Re: No power

Check the circuit boards for loose screws. The chassis is used as ground and a bad connection could be the cause.

When i press power button it just clicks and the does nothing what do i do about repairing

Perhaps you check out master 'power supply' and find bad 'capacitor' (usually). Click sound is because 'stand by power' is fine.

Why is my RCA STAV-3860 not coming on?

It sounds like the unit is getting power but is going into standby mode due to an internal fault. Sadly, newer receivers these days are not designed to be repaired but replaced!

Display does not stay on

Does the power relay click? If so, you may have a bad power transformer. If there is no click sound when you press the power button, it is probably locked into protect mode.

It just won't turn on, it won't show anything on the screen , it just makes a clicking sound when i press the power button.

The clicking sound is a bad power inverter. I have seen this several times. The power inverter aka power supply, power converter. If you can get a voltmeter then you can test it. See how much is going from the power inverter to the main circuit board. Another possible cause would be a faulty self-protection circuit that these have to keep from the system overloading it goes into protect mode when there is to much volume frequency.

Reciever wont stay powered on

I fear that there's no easy fix. Sounds like the power supply or the board which controls it is bad. If you're not an electronics repair person, it'll need to go to a repair shop.
