Printer has paper stuck. I can't see the small piece of paper. The printer will not work.

I would suggest taking dismantling the printer, but check in manual for safer way of freeing the paper.

Hope this helps!

Paper Jam light is on and there's no jam anywhere. What do you do?

A paper jam notification can be caused by two things. One a hard jam, paper stuck.

Two, If the paper does not reach a flag or sensor on time, the printer knows that a jam has occurred.

Most likely, you had a paper pick problem caused by dirty rollers or maybe the paper is held to tightly by the paper tray. Also a static charge on the paper can sometimes cause sheets of paper to stick together.

Paper jam epson c84

If you are sure that no scraps of paper (or other object) is jamming the paper feed path, you will need to dismantle the printer to investigate further. This is really a job for a technician; however, if you want to have a try yourself, you can download the service manual from here:

Also, post a new comment to this effect since I can provide useful extra info on getting these difficult machines apart.

Howto dismantle officejet printer 5610, and remove battery

well if you are having a paper feed problem then you dont need to disassemble the printer. observe the area where you feed the paper in and you will see two rollers pressing don on th paper when loaded. theas two are spring loaded to adjust to the thickness of the paper in the tray. 10 sheets or tyenty five . it still appplies downward pressure on the whole stack of paper. The rubber roller is on the right ,and a hard plastic one on the left. the rubber roller is the motorized feed roller. Clean both with a q-tip.

Printer not working

There is a high possibility of something stuck in the interior of the printer.Take a flashlight and check the paperfeed area for anything that is obstructing the roller movement(you can hear for the sound of the rollers for this)Then turn off the printer gently tilt it such that the paper feed thing is facing downwards and gently shake the printer..If nothing comes out open the side and top panels of the printer so that you can have a good view of the paper feed area..
PS:Deskjets are panels are pretty easy to dismantle..You can let me know if you need help or refer your manual..
Good luck!

Yes it can probably be fixed. I hope you poked your friend in the eye for giving you such a headache though. You will need to dismantle the machine and remove the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF) Once removed, check there is no bits of paper stuck inside. Then turn the pick up mechanisme by hand through a couple of revolutions to re synch everything. Also check the paper sensor is still intact - if not you can construct a new one from a piece of plastic or if the old one is still present, just glue it back together. You can download a service manual to hep you out with the dismantling from either:

No Paper jam

It is possible that your machine has either a foreign object stuck in the feed path or that the paper sensor has got stuck or broken. The best way to tell if something has entered the mechanism is to tip it on it back and give it a gentle shake or nudge. Then continue to turn it over (front to back) so that if anything was dislodged it should fall out of the back. If nothing falls out, it may be neccessary to partly dismantle the machine and physicaly check the state of the feed mechanism to see if there is something stuck, or if the sensor is broken. If you need a service manual to be able to dismantle the printer check out. if they do not have it listed, they should be able to get it for you and they are very good value for money.

Paper-stuck errors

1. turn printer off and back on, maybe it can solve problem itself. if it gives you a specific error code, check manual for its meaning. 2. turn printer off 3. remove paper trays, check for any wrinkled or torn papers in there. 4. open all entrances to achieve reaching ways for all parts. 5. if needed, remove tuner. put it in a sealed bad to prevent damage. 6. if you see a stuck piece of paper, pull it strong, with both hands. your goal is to keep it from tearing to pieces. 7. if it gets torn, spin the wheels manually to release it, do not use force. 8. return the tuner, close all entrances. 9. if it happens again, dismantle it again and follow the paper route.
