Pannsonic S-35 DVD Player...played great one night, next night said "no disc" and gave an "H02" error code. Tried several different discs w/ same result. ??? Can this be corrected easily?

Spindle motor in DVD mechanism require replacement, not practical to repair, just buy new one, upconverting DVD player would cost you less then repair of your old one.
Your DVD player is having an issue with the spindle motor (the thing that spins the DVD around). The following solution works for most people, and you should only have to do this once.
Unplug the DVD player.
Take the cover off.
Place a disc on the spindle.
Put a little pressure on the disc (so it doesn't slip) and spin it around a few times.
Remove the disc, reassemble, and plug back in.
Try to play a DVD.
Report back if this solved your problem, or if more troubleshooting is needed.
Same here! It would say something along the lines of "this type of disc cannot be played. please insert a different disc." it's the appropriate dvd region, i've tried all types of dvds, and it still won't work. the vhs and cd still works, it's just the dvd player that won't.
Take it back to the store if its new or if you bought a warranty and trade it for a new one. If not try calling an electronic store and ask them if they know whats wrongs with it. Be sure to read the instruction manuel for a support phone number and call there too.
You should try this site. It worked for me. Also after fixing you should try and remove anything that may be on top of the DVD as this seems to cause the issue. I may have bad news for you. Here's my story with the PVD4744S.
I watched over an hour of a DVD-video disc one night, no problems. The next night, I played only the intro; then the DVD player gave a message, "This type of disc cannot be played. Please insert another disc." Thereafter, I couldn't play any of several DVDs.

My disappointment is exacerbated by the declining availability of DVD/VHS players with an RF modulator. Maybe Panasonic should create a repair kit for aging devices.
