Question about Televison & Video

I have Toyoya Sienna Van and when I put a DVD in (it does not go in all the way) I get DVD error and it spits it out. I was able to take the face cover off and I removed a bobby pin from inside of it and thought that would work but no joy still getting a DVD error and the DVD comes out. It does go all the way in now though. Please help.

It came with the Sienna Van (is a standard stock DVD player model number 86680-45020) and it does it with all of the DVDs.

    thanks for replying.

since you mentioned that it happens on all DVDs you may want to try to run a DVD cleaner on your player.

most of the time when a player gets dirty, it gives out a format error as a part of the lens is covered with dust, CD cleaning will have this resolved.

but if not, opening the actual player will help us check mechanical failures.

here are some of the best ones i have used so far

ABS light flashing when vehicle speed above 10mph than goes out at 15mph, (2002 Toyoya Sienna Van, 98674 miles on the odometer.

well it looks like theres a problem in your break system somewhere could be the calipers mabey one is sticking or it could be dragging and its a warning i always thought that if the abs comes on then that means your vehicle is performing a duty in order to keep the breaks from locking up due to something malfunctioning.

Hi,

There are three things you can do that will eventually give you a working solution. Depending on the level of problem. Start with 1 progress to 3 until it works.
1. Use a cleaning disc. (one that use an alcohol based liquid)

2. If the cleaning disc does not solve it, you can use an ear bud, with some iso-propyl alcohol to clean the DVD lens on the drive directly. (you have to open the player and the drive)

3. The guaranteed working solution is to replace the DVD drive inside the player. This is quite a simple process, as most players use a standard IDE DVD-ROM or DVD writer.

You simply remove the face plate, (apply power to the drive, and press eject first) the tray will open. Unclip the tray face, and then with the tray open you can unclip the plastic face plate too.

Remove the old drive, and fit the new drive by reversing the removal procedure.

Once everything is assembled you should be able to watch DVD's again. If you can't find a cheap DVD drive locally, try ebay.

I have done this on over 50 players for my clients in the past. I use LG IDE DVD roms and IDE DVD writers for the DVD recorders, irrespective of brand.

Let me know how it goes.

Hey guys having a problem with my DR165 DVD Recorder. Mainly with DVD playing and DVD recording (so the main function I was interested in when purchasing it). We put in DVD's to play (Newly bought ones)...

if your dvd contains video files and songs and photo files, it will let you to access them all in individual category. you can select them one by one , by pressing title button in the remote. the frequent problem being faced by this recorder is that taking too much time to recognize the tipe of file, it's very big bug. you may change the lens to recover this error.
