All Four Red Lights On, Cannot Use Remote

Ok, so I have a Dish Network DVR with a remote. I just sat down and realized that all four lights (SAT TV VCR AUX) are on, and I cannot get them to turn off. I cannot get the remote to work with the DVR and it will not change the channel or anything. How do I get these four lights off?!

This is a new one-
I would try removing the batteries and letting it ferment overnight; it sounds like too many other electronic devices that 'hang up.' If you ahve the setup leased, they will send you a replacement and return mailing instructions.
BTW, don't let them bully you into paying anything for . . . anything. If you have been faithful paying them, they have a moral responsibility to keep their junk running. There's always DirecTV, doncha know?

The sat button on my remote is rapidly blinking, and now most of the other buttons will not work.

When the SAT button blinks repeatedly, or the buttons do a dance (Sat & DVD, TV & AUX, repeat) it means you need new batteries. Replace all four AAA batteries, ensure they are all four aligned the same way, and then hit SAT. Your remote should return to its normal function. If you leave the batteries out for too long, the remote will forget how to operate the TV and receiver, so be sure to have all four new batteries ready before you remove the old ones.

Dish remote stays in vcr mode

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. I would be happy to help with any remote issues you're experiencing. Normally if the remote is stuck on VCR mode you would need to try replacing the batteries first. Once you have replaced the batteries you are going to want to press and hold down the SAT button until it lights up red and flashes after you release. This should put your remote back in SAT mode. If this does not resolve your issue you may need to readdressing the remote to the receiver. I will list the instruction here for you to do so. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions please let me know!

Instructions for addressing the remote to the receiver
  1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver or by pressing the power button once and the channel up button once on the front of the receiver.
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  4. Press the pound (#) button.
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful, the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Light for sat will come on remote, but will not turn on tv or reciever. What to do?

First I would check to make sure you have fresh batteries. If it still doesn't work with new batteries try to re-address your remote to your receiver and tv.

For the receiver:
  1. Go to System Info screen
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  4. Press the pound (#) button
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

For the TV:

Would need to know what kind of TV it is. The following link will help you address the remote to the TV. Click the remote codes hyperlink in Step 1 to get to the codes.

I pushed some button on my remote and now I can't get my tv to work. Any suggestions?

Guest,

If you are not getting a picture on your TV, check to see which light on the remote lights up when you press the "Select" button. If anything button other than the "Sat" button lights up, the remote is not in satellite mode. Pressing and releasing the "Sat" button on the remote will put the remote back in satellite mode. I hope this helps.

Remote control interferes with second TV

si24

It is possible that the 2 remotes are on the same remote address. This generally is not possible if one remote is IR and the other is UHF but with some receivers you can have an UHF remote for you TV 1. To resolve this issue you would need to readdress on of the remotes to a different remote address. I have provided instructions on how to readdress the remote. I hope this helps.

My dish network remote stop working

It sounds as though you might have just accidentally pressed a button and changed the remote into an incorrect mode for example, tv, or aux mode. This would in fact prevent the remote from successfully working with the DISH Network receiver. If this is the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, once its back in SAT mode you will then be able to change channels, select menu, power receiver on and off, etc. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote to put the remote back in satellite mode, please just press that SAT once and then release, the SAT button should briefly light up red & then the light will go out, you should then be able to use the remote again, to ensure remote was successfully changed back to SAT mode, you can press select or any other button you chose & as long as the SAT button lights up when you press another remote control button- then your all set to go & everything should be working once again! I hope this helps -please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with! -Kirstie DISH Network

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service.I came across your post recently and wanted to see if I could help. It soundslike your remote is going to need to be readdressed to the DISH Networkreceiver box. You will first need to take your TV2 remote to the TV1 location.I will list here for you the steps on readdressing the DISH Network remotecontrol. I hope you find these instructions useful and if you have any furtherquestions or concerns feel free to post back here or email me at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com.:)
Instructions for addressing the remote to the receiver.

  1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or by pressing the power button then press the channel up button once.
  2. Once you are in the system info screen you will see primary remote address(TV1) and secondary remote address(TV2). For your particular scenario you will want to change the secondary remote address number.
  3. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.

When i turn on the tv it goes to a Dish Screen when i push select it doesnt do anything

I most likely need additional information to ensure this is in fact the correct resolution to your remote issue- but it sounds as though the remote may be in tv mode. If this is in fact the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, which will enable you to be able to press select to proceed past the DISH Network screen. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote just press SAT once and then release, the button should briefly light up red & then will go off, you can then press select and as long as the SAT button lights up when you press select or any other button on the remote then your all set to go!
