Open front door and right side door then press thumb on top of drum and slide out. Insert new drum. Or refer to the user manual, or download the manual from sharp webb site.

When i first start my copies on my brother dcp 1000 they are clear by the time i get to copy 20 their are dark ink smudges on the paper. It seems when the copier starts heating up they smudges happen. I...

replace the drum,
( if you have used correct toner for refill because some time it happens if two different type of toner mixed up hence assuming that you have select gud toner).

vote me if found helpful.

Print is too light. Replaced drum and toner already. Do I need to clean the laser mirrors. How do I clean the laser mirrors?

You can't get to the laser mirrors without removing the laser, there is a narrow glass above the drum inside that gets toner on it and needs to be wiped with a soft cloth, also make sure that the toner save is turned off as it makes everything lighter. On the panel select print reports and scroll down to user settings and it will tell you if toner save is turned on.

After changing toner on my sharp, SF-2022 copy machine, the copies are coming out with black smudge marks across the paper? how/where should i clean?

This means the machine is over-toning ie using more toner than required caused by either improper toner or different brand of toner. The correct toner is sf 222T1. Replace developer and use the right toner and clean the drum and its blade. You may need to clean fuser rollers for cleaner copies.

Copier too dark

Did you clean the lens and the mirror under the lens cover? If so, There is a VR behind the front cover of most small Xerox machines. One VR makes the image darker/lighter and one VR changes the lead edge registration.

Locked up AL-1642CS with blinking Drum Light

Older Sharp AL copiers will go on working with the drum light blinking, but yours will not. Newer models do stop working when the drum reaches its limit. Now keep in mind that just as almost every copier in the market, these units count the copies they make in order to determine toner & drum life. So it is possible to reset the drum counter if you inspect the unit and see no markings or visible wear & tear. Also keep in mind that the toner & drum units have been the same for all AL units through time, so there are plenty of good replacements in the market (not recycled, but re-manufactured or brand-new compatibles).

As for your unit, if the drum is Sharp original or a good quality replacement, you should have to do nothing after installation, for the internal chip in the drum will tell the copier to reset the counter and begin working automatically. However if that is not the case, or should you want to reset the counter on your existing drum, this is the correct sequence to do so.

  1. Identify the buttons used for adjusting exposure (darker or lighter copies), amount of copies, clear copies and start copying.
  2. Now press the following sequence of buttons: [CLR], [EXPOSURE], [CLR], [EXPOSURE]
  3. Your unit should turn off the numbers in the panel.
  4. Now press 24 as if asking for 24 copies and press [START].
  5. Press 07 as if asking for 7 copies and press [START].
  6. Your unit should restart by itself and start working normally.
Be blessed.

Xerox 5305 copier excess toner

sounds like faulty drum cleaning blade, which is usually contained in the replacement drum module.I would be inclined to take the drum unit back where you got it (unless you replaced it with a second-hand one) 99% certain the problem is contained in that module
