Pioneer Cassette deck CT-F800 doesn't play the tape

When I got the deck it didn't work right away. I tried several times and it pull the tape in and shutt it off. After cleaning and changing the tape it start working but it was sensitive and shutting off often. Then after a day or two it worked fine for couple of hours. I sold it on ebay but the buyer said that it doesn't work. So I got it back and it really doesn't play. Opened the box and look for the reels but they don't turn when the play button is pressed. It just click and shutts off. Forward and reverse works fine. The belts are on the reels, they are not broken but they are not moving. I would like to repair it by myself but don't know what can be the problem. I can find the service manual on the internet but don't know will that be enough, so I would need some good advice what to look for. Thank you in advance.

CT-W103 play back is to fast

You may have some broken tape wrapped around the capstan. The capstan is the small silver post that rotates when the tape is playing. A rubber roller presses the tape against the capstan. This silver post needs to be just that - silver. If it has any brown tape or goop on it, clean off the tape or goop with a small knife. Then follow up with nail polish remover [acetone]. Don't use alcohol because that will harden the rubber roller over time.

Pioneer CT-W208r won't eject tape.

These dual cassette decks were throw away units in most cases. The belt inside and the grease in the cam mechanism is in bad shape and the deck can not cycle through the steps it need to so as to reach stop. Only stop mode will allow the door block to release. The tape can safely be extracted by a Technician. The deck need work. Dual cassette decks are not always worn the repair cost.

Pioneer Stereo double cassette deck Ct-W302R - is it repairable?

They might be repairable but usually at a cost that exceeds it value. Who wants to pay $150 to fix what was known as a throw away tape deck? Not many. It might even exceed $150 as they are complicated to repair bot being designed to be repaired.

Problem with deck B on Pioneer CT-W205R

Better tape decks, like Pioneer, may use a different mechanism for record/play than FF & REW. So it sounds like a belt or mechanical link for the REC/PLAY has failed.
