I replaced the broken motor coupling, but when I put the washer back together, it still wouldn't spin. It just makes a buzzing noise. I verified that every wire was intact. Could there be another problem?

If the washer will fill and drain, but won't agitate or spin, you may have a broken motor coupling. The loud noise is a usual symptom. This is a common fail item with this model washer through normal wear and tear. Newer versions of the coupler are more resilient and resist breaking. The following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385250-replacing_motor_coupling_kenmore_top

The motor coupling is located between the drive motor and the transmission and takes the place of a drive belt. They do wear out and can break. The replacement part number is included in the link I provided and is an improved upgraded coupling that is more resilient. It should last longer. If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

A replacement coupling can be purchased on line at appliancepartspros.com for about $11. Just use the part number in the link and "Search by Part Number" for your search criteria. Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you find this information helpful. NOTE: There are other problems that can cause the washer symptoms as you describe, but the motor coupling is the least expensive and easiest solution to try first. If the motor coupling is still intact, please let me know.

There is no belt on this model washer if the model number is correct. The model listed is a direct-drive which doesn't use a drive belt.

IT IS EITHER YOUR BELT OR THE MOTOR COUPLING. I HAVE HEARD WASHERS MAKE LOUD NOISES LIKE THE ONE YOU HAVE.

My washer is making a loud nosie when agitation starts

That is a normal sound when the transmission shifts from the last spin cycle to go into the agitate cycle. It should make a loud click sound that does not last longer than a second. There is nothing wrong with your washing machine.

Loud grinding clicking noise during the drain cycle

It sounds like your drain pump has failed or has something stuck in it. You didn't specify a make and model so all I can say is that there are several good videos on YouTube about this problem because it's fairly common. Good luck!

GE washer (wjsr4160gww) makes loud noise during spin cycle

Remove the front panel and you will see two metal guides attached to the front of the frame. One of them will probably be bent and the transmission assembly will have jumped over one or the other of the guides. You need to manually pull it back to center then straighten the bent guide. May have been caused by load being out of balance or machine not properly leveled. Good luck.

Whirpool Duet Was. WFW9400SZ01--Spin cycle leaves clothes soaked.

the problem is your spin program is normal but the machine could not do its job usually there is broken pin clucth under the spinning tube and sometimes the spin gear.this is due to overlload problem. you should brought the machine to your trusted machine repairer as this cost you around US 100-200 in comparison if you buy new one

Will not agitate or spin, makes loud noise during those cycles

Sounds like coupling gears between transmission and motor... they did away with the belt and went direct drive with coupling gears. It can pump water out but nothing else. water pump is mounted to front of motor is why it will pump water out.
