This unit is in what is called "protect" mode/ See the link below for an explanation of this. Specifically to your unit, the output components are unique to Kenwood and are not cheap. Further investigation to locate the reason for the protect mode will be necessary prior to any attempt to estimate the cost of repair. Something as simple as a missign voltage can cause this symptom.

Please feel free to update this with any other questions or concerns that you may have.

How do I fix the clock

Push the main control knob (right side of the unit) either up or down, until the Kenwood's display screen shows "Clk Adj." Press the center of the control knob for about a second to enter the clock-setting mode.

  • 2 Push the main control knob either up or down to set the Kenwood's hour display. Stop when the correct hour shows on the screen.
  • 3 Push the main control knob to either the right or left to adjust the minute display. Stop when the correct hour shows on the screen.
  • 4 Press the "Menu" button located in the bottom-left corner to save the changes you made to the clock. This returns you to the main menu

My Kenwood dishwasher keeps displaying error message E4 but there is no mention of this in the user manual. Can you explain what this means

    Hello,

Some models of Frigidaire washers come with a digital readout display that informs the operator of the unit's function and any errors.

Error codes indicate that a problem has occurred and should be addressed. Different models of Frigidaire washers may vary in their fault displays.

Some washer models use flashing lights at the unit's start, door lock, wash, rinse, final spin and control indicators to display error codes.

    Hope this help?

    Thanks.

Kenwood in dash reciever will not read compact disks or USB

The problem is definetely a fault in the Mp of the set as it is not able to process the data from the flash memory or the CD. If will be good to open the set and do a through check for loose connections, faulty ground or joints inthe main PCB. Remove dust and fix back, Also clean your optical lens and drive unit. Fix them back and check again . If it works you are lucky or else the main processor is faulty. Hope you try this Good day

Same problem as many people who own the kenwood dpx501u head unit. The display has stopped working, pressed the reset button and this has done nothing. Is this a common fault?

    Kenwood mpe system flashing protect

"PROTECT" means that the unit's thermal protection units were activated, which in turn cut off output power to the speakers. The causes for this vary. Usually, it's a problem with the impedance load that the speakers present to the power amplifier inside the receiver. Occasionally, the circuit acts up and activates itself, or playing the unit too loudly has blown a fuse. First, check all the user servicable fuses. You'll find their location and amperage rating in the user's manual. If they're broken, replace them. Make sure that none of the bare wire from any speaker is touching any bare wire from any other speaker. If the unit still won't power up, then I'm afraid you'll have to take it into the shop for evaluation by a qualified repair technician. Best of Luck.

    Kenwood KW85 Air Conditioner

Start the unit and press the remote control at C if the display in the unit displays C, then turn off the unit using the remote control and plug out the ac supply. Plug the unit again and using the remote control turn on the unit. If the E4 still display there is something wrong with your air in sensor or the main board itself. Replacement of this parts needs a qualified technician.

Every time i put a cd in it won't read

This indicated that the unit is having a problem reading the disc. This can be because the disc is upside down, dirty, scratched, misaligned laser, dirty laser. Try to reset and run a cleaning disc through the unit. If it still cant read it may be a mechanical issue stopping the unit from reading the disc
