Realign safety eyes. A Led will be lit on each eye if aligned properly. they have to point directly at each other

There is no way to bypass the safety beam. If you have no little children or small animals you can do this. Mount the safety beams about a foot apart from each other on the ceiling or wall or wherever they will be out of the way and get a clear shot of each other. I don't recommend this if you have small animals or little children as the door
will crush them. Good Luck.

Garage door only closes halfway

If the main light is flashing 10 times when the door reverses when closing it is a door sensor problem. You can override this with the door control but not with a remote. Make sure the door sensors are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is on and not flickering.

I have a Sears Craftman 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener and on the back of the opener device, there is a re-set button. Above that button is a yellow light that flashes 5 times. I assume this is a code that is...

That is not a reset button it is the smart/learn button and is used to program remotes. If you mess with that button you can erase the memory and none of your remotes will work.

The code you are seeing with the 5 flashes of that small LED is "RPM sensor or motor overload". Your RPM sensor could be going bad but you should try increasing the down force first. The down force is a control in the same area as the smart/learn button. Increase this a bit.

If the main light is flashing 10 times when the door reverses it is a door sensor problem. One may have been bumped so that they no longer point at one another. Make sure the small light on each sensor is lit and not flickering. If this isn't the case you might need to increase the down force a little. The control is on the back panel near where all those white wires go. Increase it about 1/4 turn and try.

Pressing remotes the door won't go u[

It sounds like you have the lock enguaged. When it is flashing it locks out all remote access. Hold the lock button for 3 seconds. The green light should go solid. On the issue of closing, it is most likely a safety eye issue. Hold down the wall button. If it closes it is the safety eyes. Holding the button overrides the safety eyes. Make sure that thelight on both eyes are both lit.

My garage door opener doesnt close all the way.

The motor is probably either stalling because the door is too stiff, or you have a beam break detector that is being triggered when the door is halfway down.

I agree with the closing resistance may be set incorrectly, all openers have a safety feature that senses if something is keeping the door from closing, this is back force, you set the sensitivity at the back of the opener motor control, it is a little dial, reduce the setting just enough to stop the door from kicking back open when it closes, I had this very same problem with my craftsman and this adjustment fixed it.
