Remove basic unit from the housing in the dash

Hi. I'm a first-time user of this service and apologize in advance if this is a duplicate of another posting.

I bought a car with a Pioneer DEH-P2500 installed and would like to remove it form the chassis so I can install an RCA connector adapter and connect my iPod to it.

I can operate the unit just fine and remove the faceplate.

Does anyone out there know how to remove/release the basic unit from the housing/chassis in the dash so I can connect the adapter?

Thanks.

You need two little flat pieces of metal that slide down each side of the unit to release the clips these come with the radios usually if you know anyone that has purchased a pioneer head unit you should be able to borrow them to do it. if not go talk to any install shop they have them laying around and will sometimes part with them. if you cannot get ahold of them you will have to remove your dash and pull the bolts out and remove the entire chassis to get at the back then reinstall it. you did not say which car you have so i cannot help with the dash removal.

Did you do what they said and remove the external mail accounts? If you did and still have the problem tell them. If you are upset that the FREE service you get has some trouble, try another service. I have been using rock.com and mail.com email services for about 10 years and have never had this type of problem. They are both free as well.

Hi, currently trying to remove the dash from an 03 dodge ram auto. and replace the heater core. I have it half dismantled and the there seems to be some bolts I am unable to see that will let this dash...

Below are pictures of basically everything that is going to need to be removed. Now you will need to remove the HVAC housing as well but it does NOT need to be disassembled and can be taken out as a complete unit. If you have any questions or need any instructions or pictures, feel free to email me at csautomotivecars@att.net. Hope this helps you and good luck.

Will not heat just cold air and once it reaches 32 min left it stays there

Sorry for the troubles sounds like you have a bad timer since its not heat then the timer wont advance past a certain point. I would recommend you calling a qualified service technician come look at it and to replace the bad timer or you can do this yourself. You will need the model number off the dryer which will be on the back of the unit on the dash or inside the door opening take that number to your local appliance parts house so they can get you the proper timer. Now for installing it make sure you unplug the unit and then you will have to remove the back cover panel on the dash once removed slowly remove wire by wire replacing it to where its suppose to go on the new timer if you put a wire in the wrong spot you will fry the new timer once completed remove the old timer it should have 2 screws holding it to the dash and replace it with the new timer and put your cover back on and then plug it back up and set the timer to 60mins on the timed dry and tune it on and see if it Advances and heats. I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

You've got an expensive unit (see below for Press Release), with a built-in CD/DVD reader/writer.
Given that your unit could be six years old, it's possible that the reader/writer has "died".

It seems to be a "stand-alone" unit -- not something that requires either Mac OSx or Windows XP/Vista/7 to operate.

I'm guessing that _ANY_ IDE (not 'SATA') HP-brand reader/writer, provided that it has a "LightScribe" capability, could be purchased, and could be inserted to replace the "dead" reader/writer. For about $100, it's worthwhile to try this "substitution" to revive your unit.

Wont come out of stanby mode ??

The trouble your describing tells me that theres a short in the output circuit of this unit. Unless you know how to troubleshoot solid state electronics, Please take to a pro to have it serviced , as there are no user serviceable parts inside this unit. Good Luck
