The sreen is back forth with bright and dim, it also had beep. If I took the battery out, it does not boot by AC.

  • redbirdcard May 15, 2009

I'm using the dock station, but same result. Will it be wrong with the AC power supplier instead of AC jack on board?

wiggle the end of the cord where it plugs into your laptop and see if your screen goes from bright to dim or dim to bright.

Also see wiggle the end of the cord where it plugs into your laptop and see if that changes the icon at all.

If anything changes then that means your DC jack in your laptop has loose solder connections and they need to be resoldered.

The dc jack on your motherboard is loose and needs to be resoldered then. The screen going dim to bright back and forth and not booting up just with the ac adaptor verifies the problem.

AC jack on board is still having problems anyway regardless of the docking station. You can still try another ac adaptor if you want just to rule it out but I still feel its the jack on the motherboard that needs to be resoldered.

This is not a good sign!
If all physical connection seems fine, it could mean something is wrong on the power modules of the motherboard! Please try another power adapter to see if it's the power adaptor's fault. If not, get it into lenovo service centre for check-up, as this could damage your laptop motherboard's power modules permanently!
This happened exactly what I had on my good old ASUS laptop, I ended up replace the motherboard. Pay little money to get it serviced before you have to replace the whole motherboard!

Although not sure will it be a battery issue as well, but as a quick way to stop it flashing is to change the Power Settings so that the screen will not dim to save power (laptop thinks the AC power disconnected). Change both (power plugged in/unplugged) to the same level so that it remains the same brightness.

Pentax k2000 won't save time and date

In most modern cameras is a little rechargeable battery, that keeps the clock ticking. If your camera was a long time without power, perhaps this battery has died. I would buy a new set NiMH rechargeable or recyclo batteries, because they have a bit less capacity, but can hold power for as long as a year. Then charge them and leave the rechargeable batteries in your camera. Keep your fingers crossed, perhaps the little clock battery will be revived?

My pro 39 scanner loses memory after unplugged for 24 hrs..Question: is there a memory storage battery inside unit..

Here's a link to your radio's manual. Make sure the rechargeable batteries are able to accept a full charge. If they have been recharged more than a couple of hundred times, they may need to be replaced.

Pay attention to which jacks your are powering the radio through. The PWR and CHG jacks perform some similar, but very different functions.

The AC or DC adapter can be connected to the CHG jack when you wish listen to the radio (and recharge at the same time) ONLY when NiCad batteries are installed (or to simply recharge the NiCad batteries with the radio off). Recharging with the radio off will allow the batteries to recharge fastest (10 - 18 hrs).

As per the manual, you should not connect a power source to the CHG jack if using anything other than NiCad batteries in the radio, as they will heat up and could explode, instead connect to the PWR jack whenever using regular, non-rechargeable batteries.

Keyboard not working for ideapad s10

Usually this could be resolved by powerdraining your computer. Disconnect the battery and the adapter for two whole minutes then press the pwoer button to completely drain its power off. Try using the AC adapter power only without the battery. if it will not work still then the keyboard needs replacement. Generally a hardware failure

My Gateway 1450 will not power up. For the last 2 weeks that battery light has been red (battery need recharging). i had the unit turned off with no ac power to it all weekend and not it will not power up....

The motherboard battery is just a little round battery that you can buy at almost any retailer in most pcs. The model number to the battery is usually a CR 2032. This battery does not receive any power from your power supply. Have you noticed your PC loosing time over the last few months? This is usually a good indication that the motherboard battery is dying. The lights that you refer to though should only partain to the rechargable battery of the notebook. During the past two weeks while the red light was on, was the AC adaptor plugged in to the laptop and plugged into an AC source? If your AC adaptor has been plugged in and is not charging the notebook battery then there could be one or both of the following problems: your notebook battery could be bad or your AC adaptor could be bad. Something you may or may not know is that it is not good to keep the AC adaptor plugged in all the time. This causes the notebook battery not to fully discharge after being charged. Over a long period of time, the battery will not even charge anymore. My suggestion is that if you know someone with a similar AC adaptor to yours, borrow it to see if it charges your battery. If the battery doesn't charge then you know to replace. However, I am almost certain that you problem is the battery. Sometime older laptops like the one I have has a reset button on the underside. If yours has one try removing the battery and leave it out. Then plug in the power and press and hold the reset button for 10 to 20 seconds. If no reset button is on yours then do the same process with the battery removed and power adding, but hold the power button instead.

My Garmin Nuvi 255W, which comes on normally when I start the car, is not coming on. It is only about 5 months old. I keep it plugged into the lighter at all times. Do I need to worry about a battery in...

more than that! keeping it plugged into the car is damaging the SIIRF chip and battery when you start the motor. Also the unit needs to be charged properly before use in an AC charger or vIA USB The DC in the car will not fully charge the unit. In fact it also leaks power back to the battery of the car when you turn ignition off, so dropping the volatage and amps of the battery in the GPS.
ALWAYS UNPLUG BEFORE STARTING ENGINE

Always charge/recharge it prior to use in a AC or USB environment

Battery life is average 2 years unless used like you say you have. Then 3-6 months might see it collapse!

try a full and proper recharge first

My inspiron 1520 will not turn on. the power light will stay lit, and the capslock will blink like 45 times, and the nothing happens

Remove the battery as well as the adapter. Then plug back the power adapter only. Try to boot up with out the battery. If it worked your laptop crashed from hibernation or stand by. If not, BIOS might be affected and needs reset.
Hope this helps.
