Check out the pump motor located at on side of the washer , its a small motor with the hose connected to it ,remove it and check for any debris or gunk trapped inside , also check the drain hose, hope this helps , AJ

Hello,
What i suspect as being the problem is the lid switch asm....that assambly consist of 2 lid switches and a fuse which is wired through the water inlet valve so if it doesnt fill the fuse it very likely out and the reason the fuse went out is because one of the switches on the asm. is bad causing the fuse to blow.

When washer goes to spin cycle starts a loud noise, like hiting

you are holding down the lid switch, and being sure that it is heald all the way down at all times while performing this test.
it sounds like the brake is kicking in because the lid switch is being released,
if you are holding the lid switch and it doesnt start to spin, try to assist the basket a bit, if it begins to spin a bit you would need a new clutch because it is saturated in oil. did you notice any oil when replacing the coupling?
but worst case senario would be a transmission.

2242210 will not spin..wash cycle is fine

Could be several things, but the most common is the lid switch. The little plastic rod on the lid strikes it when the lid is closed. Make sure the switch is not broke. You should hear it click when the lid is closed. If not then it is definitely that.

Whirlpool ultimate careII spin cycle

sounds as if perhaps a wire is off on the side of the motor assy, l;ook at he wiring harness, sometimes a "chugging " noise occurs form the motor when one of the harnesses is not attached. and yes its normal to wash with the lid open, not to spin however( thats a saftey issue)

Kenmore washer

Check the lid switch first, make sure when you close the lid the switch is activated with the tab on the lid, if the switch doesnt work, your machine will only fill and wait for the lid switch to be satisified. You should hear the lid switch lick or snap when you open and close the lid.

Start here, if could be the motor or timer, however check lid switch first.

Washer will not pass wash cycle...Will not Drain

Nightshade, in most cases, no spin, no drain is a lid switch problem. If you advance the timer to the spin position does it spin? If the machine is agitating you can rule out the coupler. If you are sure that it is not a lid switch problem, then you are probably looking at a bad timer....Catriver..post back.
