It could be a flyback gone bad, but will not rule out the powersupply and congradualate you on you observence you will pay $25 to have it looked at and if its a flyback yourlooking around $75-$100 bucks for a replacment flyback if its a power supply then its a 25 cent fuse, I caution you not to do it yourself if you not experienced.

My tv just stopped working. When i felt the power supply box it was very hot. I unplugged the tv and after half an hour turned it back on when the power supply cooled down. The tv worked again but only...

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the Television.on the power supply board of the Television there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be due to this when you start the Television the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of Television.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and Television shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop television
This will help in solving the problem.....

My panasonic television's power light is flashing. Model TH-42PZ8OU The television won't respond to controlers or power button. Please help

Power supply or main board would cause this problem. You will need to check the caps on the power supply and test the voltages. If power supply is good replace the main board.

Lg 52 in lcd turns off then back on when your

The problem lies either in the power supply or the main board. But most probably it lies in the main board. These boards communicate in switching on the television sequentially. The power supply sends a signal to the main board when AC power is supplied and puts the television on stand-by. When the TV is turned on, the main board sends a switched command to the power supply to deliver it's output for audio and video processing. At the same time it turns on a supply voltage for the backlights.

What probably happened is, the signal sent by the main board to the power supply is being switched on intermittently and causing the turning on and off of your television.
  1. Remove the back cover of the television to check the power supply and the main board. The power supply is the one with transformers on it and located at the center while the main board is the one where inputs are being connected to and located at the lower right back of the television.
  2. Check the power supply for any swollen capacitor.
  3. Turn on the television and check if the LED on the main board flashes as the TV turns on and off.
Please inform me what will you find above and if you can do electronic repairs. Just tell me if you need guidance in replacing parts for your TV.

I have no power from my power supply. Is the power supply bad or is there another cause for this. Knowing that there is outlet power present, I have nothing indicating power at output of supply.

Nothing coming out from the power supply would signal a bad power supply. The power supply is bad. Replace it. It may have blown a fuse inside.
