So are you saying that you are using the component cables? What are you using for the audio? You should be using the coaxial or optical digital cable for the audio. Go into the menu and make sure that the output is set for component video and digital audio. For more information, or should you have any further questions, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me through the website. Thank you.

How do I hook up this DVD player to my 60 inch Westinghouse model #VR-6090Z ?

If your DVD player has HDMI, use it. If not, you'll need to buy a cord for it. Look on the back of the TV and the back of the DVD player. There should be colored connectors on each one. On the TV, it will be an input. On the DVD player, it'll be an output. There will be either 3 connectors or 5 connectors on the TV and DVD player. You'll need a cord with either 3 connectors on each end (red, white, yellow), or one with 5 (red, white, blue, green, red). Once you figure out which cord you'll need, buy it from any store that sells TVs and hook it up. The link below has pictures

#dhb300b DVD player plays only black and white my TV is a JVC HD TV with HDMI cable from driver TV box hook up DVD to TV audivo to audivo video to video set TV to component program DVD to TV but plats

The yellow/red/white cables are COMPOSITE cables. COMPONENT cables are RED/BLUE/GREEN. You can buy those at any electronics store. Your best bet, though, is to stick with HDMI if you can.

Surround Sound

RED and White attachments are Audio. The Yellow is Video. Do not plug the Yellow into the Red/White/or black (if available). If you have HDMI, all of this would be solved with one cable attachment.

Connecting dvd player to a television need a diagram t.u

Hi,

If you are going to hook up the DVD player to your TV through RCA cords, see the picture below.

jdvillanueva_120.jpg

Hook up the yellow RCA cord at the Video-in at the back of the TV and the other end at the Video out of the DVD player to get the video.

Hook up the red RCA cord at the Audio-in(right channel) at the back of the TV and the other end at the Audio-out of the DVD player.
Hook up the white/black RCA cord at the Audio-in(left channel) at the back of the TV and the other end at the Audio-out of the DVD player.

Red and white/black RCA cord is for the sound.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

I'M TRYING TO HOOK UP MY INSIGNIA 42'' 1080P FLAT-PANEL LCD HDTV TO OUR DVD PLAYER USING THE COMPONENTS (RED, BLUE, GREEN, RED & WHITE CABLES) PROVIDED AND THE PICTURE IS IN BLACK & WHITE....

The three picture cords (red/blue/green) often are a little larger around than the sound cords (red/white). If they are they same size, they are often grouped separate by picture and sound. Double check to verify if you have the "red" cords correct. Good luck.

Need to connect dvd player have yellow, red and white connectors

Red is right channel, White is Left Channel, and Yellow is video.  If you just got the TV and DVD player its a pretty simple setup.  Just look on the back of the DVD player and hook the yellow cord to video and hook the other end to video on your TV.  Now just plug in the red and white cords to the audio on the back of the DVD player and connect the other ends to audio on the back of the TV.  You can bypass these connections and just get a HDMI cable which has video and sound all in one convenient cord, but they cost more.  You just connect the cord on the back of the DVD player where it says HDMI and then plug the other end to the TV where it says HDMI.

Black and white video

Make sure there are not two video outputs emanating from the DVD player - this is the classic reason behind b/w picture.
