Locate the brain under the drivers side under-dash area. this may require you to undo a couple of bolts. you will need a 7MM and a 10MM depending on the year of the truck. from there you can unplug the the 6 pin main ignition harness from the brain. it may just be that the battery is no good. a trip to one of the major chain auto part stores can have them check your battery for free. Good luck.

Trickle charge the battery before taking it to the auto parts store for testing making sure it is fully charged. if the battery is good, check for loose ground wires at the brain box for the alarm as well as the battery to engine block ground strap. if the battery is bad get a new battery obviously. make sure your alternator wires are bolted tight, maybe even take that in for testing as well. you may also have an open relay somewhere.

We have an aftermarket car alarm installed, but have lost the remote. Our battery died and when we jumped it, the alarm reactivated itself and now we can't turn it off! We cannot start the vehicle unless...

I don't think that the alarm can be bypassed once installed. So you'll have to contact the aftermarket car alarm installer that put it in to try to get a new fob that will work with it, or else have it uninstalled by an alarm dealer.

I think the wires need to be traced to deactivate the alarm system, one way or another, because most alarms cut into the ignition or start wiring to prevent the vehicle from running.

Sounds like something is drawing power from the battery when you are not driving your car. Check interior lights, head lights, brake lights, aftermarket stereo or trailer wiring.

Battery cables

Do you have sealed battery cables? If you have the ones that are stripped with a clamp (shown below), then you should change the cables out to sealed.

You don't want corrosion on your cables or battery. Follow these instructions to clean and prevent corrosion on your battery. The corrosion may be hindering the connection of the battery post/screw and cable.

1994 suburban will not keep charge from battery,

Sounds like a bad altnator. if the alt. is working propperly it will run the burb. with out the battery installed. With that though, it possiably could of damaged the batt. enough to the point of replacement as well.
