Seal needs to be replaced around door. Make sure magnetic strip is tight against sides of refrigerator, even if you have to cut the outside so it lays flat against the sides.

How to find out if there is a leak on the top of the freezer compartment of my whirlpool french door fridge there seems to be an icicle ?????

Most likely your freezer door or fridge door is not closing properly. Poor rubber seal (door gasket)???

Most likely moist room air gets inside through a door leak

Replacing door gasket (gasket panel)

ok if the door is opening it might be tipped forward. Try leveling the unit or tip slightly toward the back. Won't take much and you can use
anything solid and flat to prop it up.
I hope this helps.

After dishwasher fills an shuts off I get water coming out at the bottom of the door on both sides. I think it could be coming at the side ofthe door and at the top. I installed in Feb. of 2010. Could it...

The door seal could be the problem but if it leaks at the top also, I would check the latch and make sure that it is drawing the door tight against the rubber seal. Normally, if you run your finger over the seal you can find any defects in it.

Replacing door gaskets on model EF19MKXSN00

The gasket is held in place by metal strips on all 4 sides with a lot of screws. Loosen do not remove the screws and pull the gasket out from under it, Warm the new gasket in some hot water and tuck back under the retainers. Tighten the screws snug not overly tight. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to seat the new gasket and remove the wrinkles. Careful not to overheat and melt it.

Ev201nxm door doesn't seal/ices up

I have a EVL201NXRQ05 upright whirlpool. It was purchased in Nov 2008 in the Summer of 2009 the gasket was leaking at the top of the door. The gasket on this door snaps into place (no hardware needed). The problem is the door was bowed in the middle pulling the gasket down and away from the metal frame of the freezer - to the point the magnets in the gasket would not touch in the middle of the opening. I requested a new door while under warrantry. The door did not appear to be repairable it is a glued/foamed-inplace assembly. The new door looked straight when I installed it last summer and now it is bowed but not yet leaking. Whirlpool has a design / manufacture problem with this door design. I have received an extended warranty option from Whirlpool this past week 4 months after the factory warranty has expired. I suspect they know they have any issue, but not much is written about it. I may end up buying the extended warranty, but first I'm going to where I bought it to complain.

Refrigerator door gasket pulls down and brakes off on top corner

Look it over and see how it is held in place. A stripped screw or bent clamp depending on what holds it in place is the most likely suspect.

A stripped screw get a slightly bigger one or shrink the hole with tooth pics or match stick.

Bent metal strip remove and straighten possibly bending a little more in the opposite direction. And sometime 1 metal strip may be put on upside down or turned around backwards and not holding. look for similarity in the way these type of bracket/strips attach.

If this helps please rate me as high as possible.Thank you for using fixya.

The door leaks on my whirlpool front load model wfw8300sw03, looks like the door isnt sealing tightly, if I push on the door it stops lealing, any ideas?

you might have a bent door hinge, but most likely you have a worn door boot. its the grey rubber thing that the glass seals to.
try to lift up on the door to get the hinges back into place and if that doesnt work then you might need to replace the door boot.
look at the edge of the boot where the glass hits it. the glass must seal to the rubber and if the rubber is worn or torn then it wont seal.
not an easy piece to replace but it can be done. i wouldnt recommend trying it first as you will find it very tight to get your hands into and the clamps are hard to figure out as well.

Black mold growing on rubber gasket and under rubber gasket in Whirlpool Duet front loading Washer

The solution? Plain old bleach.
Scrub rubber seal on door. Run the bleach through the machine once a month to keep clean.

Keep door open after each wash to ensure that it dries out properly.
