Your filter is clogged. Open the tank. Unscrew the filter. Slide the casing off the filter. Brush out the collected dirt. If it's really clogged you can wash it, but use warm water to break up the packed dust. I wouldn't wash the inner filter more than once or twice. Make sure it's completely dry before you reassemble it. Easier, but more expensive, replace the filter.

Possible problem with thermal indicator?

Remove all filters and the dust bin and leave the vacuum motor run for a while. If it does not shut off it may mean your filters are clogged and need replaced. Even washable filters should be replaced frequently because they become clogged and restrict the airflow. You can't always tell if a filter is clogged by looking at it.

Hi Cassidy. You are probably right about the motor overheating. The usual cause for overheating is a clog some where on the bottom of the machine. Check for anything that could be blocking the dirt fro going into the bag. Hope this helps Chris

Where EXACTLY is the reset button on DC07? I am not an idiot, but I cannot find this button anywhere!

This model doesn't have a reset switch. When it shuts off due to overheating, the vacuum needs to be switched off and allowed to cool down for at least 30 minutes before using again.
Overheating is generally caused by blockages in the airflow system, and should be checked while it's shut down. A downloadable owner's manual can be found on the following site.

The motor is overheating and shutting off -- after vacuuming for a short time the vacuum motor shuts off

Sounds like there is a clog somewhere or a filter needs to be cleaned if it has one. Or the bag may need emptied.

HOOVER WINDTUNNEL SELF PROPELLED OVERHEATING AND SHUTTING OFF

It sounds like it is overheating because of a blocked flow of air that keeps the motor cool. Check for a blockage from the area of the
roller brush through the hose to where it goes into the bag.

Where is the reset button on the electolux 2100

There is no reset button on the 2100. If it shuts down, the indicator lights will tell you why. If it has been overheated, there is a self-resetting switch which will shut the motor down and the light will come on to indicate that particular problem. When you turn the machine off and then back on, it should re-start provided you have given the motor ample time to cool down. This will not solve the problem as to why it overheated in the first place. There are also lights and auto-switches that will control full bag and no bag. The machine will not run with no bag and a full bag will cause it to run for a few seconds and shut off.
