I get a pop up with a RED CONTRAST screen every few minutes It sometimes goes away if I push the contrast button on my Dell monitor. but it will usually come right back. I have tried everything to stop...

You can try the monitor on another computer to verify it is the monitor and not the display card at fault.

I'm assuming this is an LCD monitor. If you are sure the monitor is the problem, then your monitor's display driver circuit is probably getting close to failing. When one of the three colors (red, green, blue) becomes intermittent, the screen takes on the hue of the working colors. In your case it sounds like the blue is starting to fail.

A repair technician may be able to replace the circuit.

Only the blue coloured objects are seen perfect while other objects lose the colour. the problem persists for few minutes but then suddenly all colours appear fine .Plz give me a solution.thnx

If all the cables are correctly attached, sounds like your monitor is failing.
I have had a few monitores do this, usually give them a little tap, they come back on for a while, but its usually a sign to be looking for a new monitor, unless its under warantee

Blue hue on screen

Try a different known working monitor on the vga port of your laptop. If the replacement monitor works then you definitely know its a problem with your original monitor. If the replacement monitor shows the same blue hue then you know the vga port is bad on the laptop which would mean replacing the motherboard since its connected to the laptop.

Monitor gets a blue hue

Hey Tricky Cat!

My first advice would have been the cable...since that did not resolve it it can only be 1 of two other things...the video card (might be intregrated on your motherboard)...or the monitor.

To test plug in another monitor if you have one. If the problem resolves it is the monitor...if not then the video card.

You will have to way your expenses to fix...usually a monitor is cheaper to replace...as well as a video card. If it is integrated the cheapest route is to buy a new video card and turn off the old one in the BIOS.

Good luck my friend.
