Question about Hayward 3/4hp Super Pump Inground Pool Pump 115/230 Volt # Sp2605x7

My hayward superpump for the pool in leaking

After 12 years my pump started leaking from what appears to be a very solid plastic housing. The leak appears to be coming from the bottom of the housing just below what looks like a bolt holding the sides together. Any ideas are appreciated.

Normally this is not a crack in the housing. It is usually a shaft seal.

Overheating hayward super pump

Superpumps have been a workhorse in the industry for decades. Your results are highly unusual. The motors that run these pumps have bee manufactured by Century/Magnetek and A.O. Smith for the past 20+ years. These same motors power the vast majority of pumps built by a wide range of pool pump manufacturers. (They are not Hayward specific)
You may want to get a second opinion from another electrician, or call out a pool pro to check out the installation to see what could be causing these frequent failures. This is WAY abnormal.

The pump is humming not coming on

Did you have a leak prior to this?

If so, you now have a seized motor. The leak travelled into the motor because of a failed shaft seal.

A $20 part would corrected this, now you either can have the bearings replaced (depending on your area, some service company's will not do this) or - New Motor!

Water leaking from superpump. looks like it is coming out from the very beginning of where the pump meets the basket. How can I fix this?

sounds like the tank is cracked. bummer .. if you remove the motor from the tank and let the tank dry you can see the cracks as small black lines, and there is no real good patch for this, i recomend to all of my customers to sclicone the seal plate to the tank body do to the pumps poor design.. yo just might need a new tank assy there not cheap so i recommend you hunt down your local pool pump motor repair guy with free testing and see if he has a used one and how to install it so to get best performance out of it.. these guys know pumps and can save you thousands of dollhairs over the years.. a used tank $50 or less .. One or more of a couple issues is at play here. First would be the seal replacement. Even if you used the correct seal if you touched the surfaces or failed to install it properly it can and will leak. Second, inspect the housing around the seal fit and the stem of the impeller for cracks. A hairline crack is enough when placed under pump operating pressure to allow a leak. Somewhere in there is your solution.

Pump is leaking from the bottom what do I need to do to fix it? Only leaks when running, also looses prime when turned off.

The mechanical seal. We sell them for about $4 or you can get them locally. The superpump uses a 201 seal.
