What make and model television?

first make sure you`ve connected the AV cable from the tv to the pc and check carefully in the remote and press the tv button if AV is not indicated

If you plug in headphones do you get sound?
Check the Sounds option in the control panel.
Look at the settings by clicking on speaker icon in the lower-right side of your screen.

Hi you can get a 'One For All' remote to cover prosonic models and the Essence version covers 17 prosonic models, getting an original remote seems pretty rare.
