Question about Efficient Networks Siemens Se5940 T1 Business Gateway Router

Open Question

Access into a Siemens se5940 T1 router

The default IP on the switch ports does not respond. The Management port does not have an adapter and I don't know the pin out for that management port from modular RJ45 to serial db9. If I had that I could get into the unit to activate the switch ports for the UI I think....

Any help on this OLD beast?

Thanks!

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: need to telnet or web into speedstream 5360 modem

I believe the default IP address for those is 192.168.254.254 and the login and password are both admin. If that address doesn't get you to the login screen, do the following.

1. Go to start>run
2. Type cmd and hit enter
3. Type ipconfig
4. Write down the default gateway address
5. Type that address into your web browser and see if it connects to the gui now.

If that doesn't help let me know and I'll keep digging for the manual but wow is it hard to find anything about it online.

SOURCE: Hello, I am the office

Thank you for using FixYa

I am going to attempt and I say attempt to give you a solution. After much research I find that this issue has come up before since about 2003 on those series of modems. I found one solid reference that solved the issue. Their solution was to set the modem to Bridge and do the port fowarding in the Linksys router. I do not know if this will help you in your setup but it is at least worth the suggestion. I am sure your Speedstream is out of warranty by now and you are unable to get back to the supplier, who may have other suggestions. Those modems have come through an evolution of updates as you might have guessed and the solution may be getting another kind.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

If you are trying to access the DVR server from outside your network, you need to use port forward, in that way you will use your DVR client to connect to the router's public IP, the router will be forwarding the port the video system use to the computer, just configure the computer's IP in the router's port forwarding configuration.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access it then press RESET button for router for 10 seconds so all settings defaults .Then you can access it with above default ip. Then reconfigure wan settings and lan settings enable wireless if you want to use wifi Then save settings and restart router Then connect cable from internet service provider to WAN port of router and connect ethenet lan cable from computer to lan port of router. . Remote Access

IF you are getting public ip from your isp, please go to administrator tab of the router and first change the router's password which is on the top on same page in black dots,,type your new password by deleting old one and re-confirm it just below and save it..router will prompt for the new password just to let you know settings are saved now enable remote managment option on the same page and port is 8080(default, you can use your own port number) and save setting..now you are ready to access your router remotely for that note down the public ip you are getting on your router's status page and in remote location you need to type something like :- http://x.x.x.x:8080...x.x.x.x is your internet ip (public) and 8080 is port number for remote management.

For host applications need to know which application you are running according to that need to open port in the router using Port Forwarding feature of the router.

Am trying to set up a Windows 2003 server to serve web pages over the Internet. Have got a DSL line from Embarq. They installed a EQ-660R interface which is really build by Zyxel. I can reach the Internet...

In order to access your default web page remotely, port 80 "INBOUND" must be open to the internet.

To access your web server, two things need to happen.
The first is you or someone else must initiate a http request on port 80 using the public IP Address of your DSL connection.
Second, your router must forward that request to your servers internal ip address.

Ex. Lets say your public ip address is 24.39.45.10. In a browser window from a remote location, you enter the URL http ://24.39.45.10 The request will be sent to your router on port 80.

Your web server will not have the ip address 24.39.45.10 because it's on the private network side of your router. So, lets say the private ip address of you server is 192.168.1.100

You need to configure your router to take the http request coming from the internet on port 80 to ip address 24.39.45.10 and forward that request to 192.168.1.100. This is known as port forwarding.

You also need to configure the host header name of your "web page" so it knows it needs to display the web page.

Since we're just using ip addresses in this example and not an actual FQDN (fully qualified domain name), you would make a host header entry for the web page of 24.39.45.10.

To do this open IIS.
Navigate to the web site in question and right click on it then select properties.
On the website tab, ensure the port number is set to 80 and choose the appropriate internal ip address if you have more than one network adapter in the server.
Next click on the advanced tab and look for the heading Multiple identities for this site. This is where you enter the ip address 24.39.45.10.

If you have a fully qualified domain name, you would enter the domain name instead of the ip address as specified in this example.

Host header names are the key to running multiple websites from one physical server as long as it has the necessary horsepower to do so.

Hope this helps and isn't confising. If you're confused in any way, don't hesitate to ask for clarification.

D-Link DI 524 behind VNC access remotely - Need help....

Open a browser and type in htp://192.168.0.1 to access your router's web management interface. Enter the username and password (default is username admin and no password)
Go to the Advanced Tab and Virtual Server
Name=VNC
Private IP=IP Address of your Home notebook
Protocol Type=TCP
Private Port=5800
Public Port=5800
Set Schedule as you like
Enable the rule and click Apply.

To access you Home notebook from anywhere other than your house, go to http://10.0.57.46:5800

Next - remote management of the router.
The IP address that you enter on the remote management page is the IP address that is allowed to connect to the remote management. If the 194.145.183.83 is the IP address of your office, this should work. Be sure you apply a password or anyone going to http://10.0.57.46 will have access to you router, I also recommend changing the port from 80 to 8080 so that http://10.0.57.46:8080 has to be typed to access the remote management interface.

Edimax Router BR-6204WG - setting as

I believe I can help.

As I understand you use your Siemens to get to Internet and you like to use another Edimax 6204 WL Router on another floor.

You don't have to change much !

First check if DHCP on your Siemens Router is ENABLED (it should be) !

- RESET your EDIMAX Router (to be sure everything is set by default)
and disconnect any LAN cables from it.
- If you are using Laptop (or desktop with WL adapter), connect it to your EDIMAX by LAN cable.

- Set (if it is not) LAN adapter IP and DNS of your Laptop/Desktop
to 'Obtain an IP address automatically'
If it was seto to some STATIC IP, after this you may need to 'REPAIR' your LAN connection
to get a new IP from your Edimax router

- Open your browser and type http://192.168.2.1
(admin + pass: 1234)

- Go to Wan port and check it. It should be set to Dynamic IP.

- Go to LAN settings and type IP address of the Edimax Router in the same Class
as Siemens Router is. (e.g. if Siemes router is 192.168.1.1 then Edimax should be 192.168.1.2)

- Change the DHCP range too, but be carefull this range should be different from DHCP range on your
Siemens router. (e.g. if Siemens router range is 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.200, then you should
set Edimax DHCP range from 192.168.1.201 to 192.168.1.250)

- Now, connect the LAN cable from one of Siemens LAN port to WAN port of your Edimax.

That's it!

Now you may change SSID, Security, Time etc. on your Edimax router, and also try to connect via your Laptop's WL adapter. (also make sure it has no static IP address)

Hope this helped.

Siements 5890 router

When you say HQ is that outside on the wan port trying to ping the Lan port?
Sometimes the router itself will respond to a ping but will not pass ping requests thru as the internal firewall can never be fully shutoff unless you are running your cisco switch as a DMZ
also are you connecting your other pc's to the cisco or to the 5890.
Instead of shutting off the firewall completely try enabling bridge mode and give your cisco the outside IP addy.

How do I use the Remote Management feature on my router?

Remote Management allows the device to be configured through the WAN (Wide Area Network) port from the Internet using a web browser. Step 1 Log into the web based configuration of the router by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The username is admin (all lowercase) and the password is blank (nothing). Step 2 Click the Tools tab and click the Admin button. Step 3 Select the Enabled button to enable Remote Management. In the IP Address field type in the public IP address you wish to manage the router. Note: If you donĀ“t know the IP address or wish to allow more than one IP address to manage the router then put an asterisk (*) in the IP Address field. You cannot enter an IP range. Step 4 By default the port used to Remote Manage the router is set to 8080. Change the port number by selecting the down arrow next to the Port Number drop down menu. Step 5 Click on Apply and then click Continue to save the changes. To Remote Manage the router you will need to type in the Public IP Address of the router in your web browser along with the Port Number (separated by a colon) you selected in Step 4.
