I also had the sme problem and replaced the 12 volt transformer and that solved the problem

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the transformer. Remove the rear cover, and the cover over the black box on the right (as you face the rear). You will two red leads going to the PC board, remove that connector and test for 12v AC on those leads. Be careful since it has to be plugged in to test this. If any of that didn't make sense, or you don't have a voltmeter, best to call an expert.
