Question about Computers & Internet

I am running a Fujitsu Lifebook T4215 tablet laptop with the Vista operating system. My problme is - when I open any PDF file - the file screen goes blank after about 6 seconds. I have to re-open the file to get the image back and once I do - it goes blank again after about 6 seconds. Unfortuantley, I cannot read my PDF files that fast. Any ideas?

    Yes - thanks for the advise - I uninstalled Adobe 8.1 and downloded Adobe 9 - everything seems to be working well.

    Do I need to do the www.ccleaner portion of the instructions?

Un install adobe reader , use ccleaner ( http://www.ccleaner.com ) and download the latest version from adobe ( you can google for adobe reader ) I think they are on version 9, if not there are some free pdf readers / viewers you can use

You may have to restart internet explorer for it to work correctly , also do a full reset on internet explorer - if that does not work then you may have spyware in which case disable system restore use spybot search and destroy and a squared to run scans ( obviously updating the defintions on both ) and that should clear any issues up.

you can also use ie fix it ( assuming you un instal any later versions of internet explorer so you get back to version 6 ) repair it which may require either vb 6 runtime files and the installation disc ie windows xp cd.

Also get firefox and try opening pdfs from websites using that after you have obviously installed one of the pdf viewers ( the official one being from adobe ) so I would suggest you try doing the first thing I suggested before using fox it reader / viewer.

Lifebook tablet stylus doesnt work


Hello, Lori -

If you received a user's guide for your laptop when you purchased it, check the manual, starting on page 30 for instructions on using the stylus (called a pen) in the guide.

If you do not have a user's guide for your laptop, you can find and download one here (free):

You will need Adobe Reader software (free) loaded on your laptop. After you download the guide, save it with a file name you can find easily - something like: Fujitsu Lifebook T4220 Manual. If your laptop is connected to a printer, you can print the guide for easy reference.

The information on using the stylus / pen begins on image 40 (page 30) of the PDF document.

Information from page 31 (image 41 in the PDF document) regarding the pen:

CALIBRATING THE PEN
In order to ensure accurate tracking between the pen
and cursor, you must run the Touch Screen Calibration
Utility before you use the active digitizer for the first
time, or after you change the display resolution.
To run the calibration utility:
1. Go to Start -> Control Panel and double-click on
the Tablet and Pen Settings icon.
2. Click Calibrate.
3. Adjust the display of your Tablet PC to a comfort-
able angle.
4. Using the pen, firmly touch the screen directly on
the (+) symbol; the (+) symbol will move to the
next location.
5. Repeat step 4 in the four corners, then click OK.

Touch screen does not respond

Hi. I have a problem with my fujitsu lifebook t4215. When windows is runnning and I change the notebook to tablet config, I cannot get the display/screen automatically rotated. Even when I press the Screen...


Do you have Windows 10? As there may be an issue with screen rotation.

However to check your settings:
  1. Place the tablet into Pad/Tablet mode.
  2. Click the Start menu and select Settings.
  3. Click System.
  4. Click Display.
  5. Scroll down and check the status of Lock rotation of this display .

My fujitsu lifebook t4215 will not connect to the internet. When I check the connection, it says that it is connected, but when I try to bring up Internet pages, it won't bring any up.


So you're connecting with WiFi eh? I take it you've already disconnected and reconnected with no progress?

Next would be to shut it down, and reboot. Try it again.

Are you connecting through a router? You might be "connected" to the router/hub but it may not be actually connected to the internet. Can anything else you have or someone else connect to the internet through the same connection? If so then we know the connection is good, and it's the Lifebook.

Look for "NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER" and see what that looks like. It should show you a graphic of the connection and you may find it as I described above. You need to eliminate or identify your condition at this point.

Keyboard no good. Just get a new one since you also have an intermittent situation that sooner or later will stop working permanently.

Call the Fujitsu service 800 number, you may still be under warranty.
It sounds like the inverter has burnt out, take it to a Fujitsu authorized repair shop, your tablet has a security feature that will lock you out if it is opened by an unauthorized repair shop or anyone else for that matter.
They take your tablet security very serious.
