Question about Palm Z22 Handheld

1 Answer

Screen frozen, did hard reset but tapping target - no responce.

My Palm Z-22's screen is frozen. I did a hard reset (with no positive results) then removed the back cover looking for a multi-cord ribbon. I don't see anything that looks like a multi-cord ribbon. A clear description of what I'm looking for would be great....and appreciated. Where do I go after removing and replacing the ribbon connection?

Nope, didn't solve the problem. Just threw the thing in the trash; I'm tired of messing with it. But, thanks for trying.

I had a similar problem on it had to do with the synchronization of the stylist. It took some patient and precise tapping but it came around. Use the bottom buttons, etc. to locate this. I hope this helps.

I can not sync

HI,
The first thing you need to do is to reinstall the palm desktop software to make sure you have the most up to date version. After you do that try doing a hard reset. You want to make sure you have everything backed up from your PDA to your desktop because when you do the hard reset it is going to erase everything on the PDA and restore to just like it was brand new. You will have to reset the time and city and calibrate the screen by tapping the little targets.

To do the hard reset follow these instructions:

1. Hold down the power button and then depress the small hole in the back with the tip of your stylus2.gif.

2. Continue to hold them both in until you see the Palm logo.

3. Let go of both of them and then follow the onscreen directions. You will want to answer yes and use the 5 way navigation button on the bottom of your pda and hit up so that is completes the reset. After that you will have to set up your touch screen2.gif and go through the tapping the target. After you have gone through all this then do a hotsync. It should clear up your problem. Best wishes.

Palm Tungsten E2 stuck on Tap the center of the target

The digitizer part is defective and needs to be replaced.

You can find digitizer parts in ebay or other on-line companies, at reasonable prices.

Regarding the labor cost, depending of the repair shop you choose, it may be cheap or expensive.

Also, if you have minimum experience and skills in fixing electronics, you can try it. really is not so difficult, and minimum set of tools are needed for it

Best regards,
