Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Drain problems I have a Kenmore 665.17292992 portable dishwasher. I've changed the filter and the seals however it still does not want to drain. It will drain but extremely slowly and since it's on a timer, it only drains maybe 10% of the water out. My next step was/is going to be the Check Valve... but I am at a loss right now. I thought for sure it would be the filter. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, PM

    Howdy,

Not 5 minutes ago I fixed it.. FINALLY.. after 3 months of no dishwasher.

It was in fact the Check Valve... it had two items lodged perfectly in it..

Thanks for the help though, I truely appreciated all input.

This may not be the solution, but look for an air in-take somewhere on the top/back of the unit. It's probably covered by a stainless steel cover that can be taken off. Unscrew this cover and see if the air intake is blocked with lint. This is usually the cause of dishwahers (whether portable or built-in) failing to drain.

Kenmore 15652 model. won't drain

Hi

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller.

Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat.

Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Dishwasher not cleaning - want to clean drain

We have a Kenmore 665.17702k600 Portable dishwasher with a similar problem. What we did was pop off the drain cover (turns out the one screw wasn't doing anything and just pushed down into the unit when screwdriver was applied). We popped it off by shimmying a screwdriver under the panel, and applying torque on the long end. It just popped right off. Then there was this nasty stale water, and not much obvious debri. We used a wet vac to slurp all that up. So that's the solution we took -- haven't tried it yet, so not sure if it will actually fix the problem...

Kenmore portable dishwasher not working

is the buzz sound when you ask it to drain or ask it to fill with water? or is the buzz sound when it is trying to wash? IF it is when you ask it to drain either you have something stuck in your air gap causeing no drain or there is something in your pump I would check the easy stuff first by checking the air gap this is if it is buzzing when you ask it to drain. let me know what is the senario.
