SOURCE: How do I check washer specs?

They made this model apparently between 2002 to 2004, it is specified as 10kg capacity. If you end up getting it then here are some parts diagrams for the model that may come in handy; http://www.partselect.com/AdvancedModelSearch.aspx?ModelNum=LAT9704AGE&mfgModelNum=LAT9704AGE&fkMfgID=1 I'm afraid i have had no luck with a manual, but this link shows an auction of one near you from a couple of weeks ago - you may get an idea of what people think and what it's worth http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Laundry/Washing-machines-dryers/auction-90916298.htm Maytag appliances are normally above average in quality, found nothing specific about particular faults with the model which probably means it is pretty reliable. You could also ask maytag - they may be helpful - please let us know the results if you try them; http://www.maytag.com/support/contact_us.jsp Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: Torn bellow on Maytag front load washer

there is a spring style clamp holding it to the front panel simply peel back slightly and "pop" it off, then holding it to the inner tub is a screw style clamp, depending on yr of production, either a 5/32 scrwe or a phillips, holding it in the 2 oclock position, release clamp andreinstall boot, it might take some time to get to fit backaround hte tub but itll bo, you gotta walk it on in spots ( like changing a tireon the bikes as a kid) itlll strectch over the rim and fit, just have to work it

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune FAV6800AW Top Loading Washer Noise

Hello gwatson01,
Wondering if you could rate my clarification request as a solution? I joined this forum as a owner DIY’er to help other owners. The machine is just too expensive to junk and as you found fairly easy to work on. As a forum member as you I receive no compensation for my support to other owners. Thank you in advance for your support. Rich
My solution;
I’m an owner/DIY’er of the machine. Please take a look at this post and see if your mechanical noise may be coming from underneath the tumblers, maybe some coins grinding around under the tumblers. If you think it is take a look at the service manual link in that post. It will take you thru the tumbler removal process, see if you feel comfortable with the process, the manual does not call out a #20 Torx driver is required to remove the tumbler.
If you think the grinding noise is very metallic and not muffled by a tub of water the grinding noise may be coming from the transmission/clutch area and removing the machine front vertical cover will be necessary to better sound isolate the suspect area of the machine. Do you feel OK to remove the front panel? If so see this post.
The 1st link I sent you to shows that this owner had issues after the coin removal. I would also like you try a Spin Only cycle with no clothes in the wash basket. Can you let me know if that cycle runs with no noise? We can’t totally rule out an issue with the clutch/transmission components with the info supplied so far. To help you remotely diagnose this issue detail information is needed. Let’s try to sound isolate the grinding noise source location. Follow all safety rules in the Service Manual. If you don’t feel comfortable to proceed I would recommend you call in a qualified FAV6800AWW repair service for support.

My maytag neptune top loading washing machine when washing sounds like there are belts squealing and the washer tub seems to hit the sides of the machine when spinning what is going on?

This sounds like a possible Clutch issue. Is the machine model an FAV6800A or FAV9800A?

When the washer is banging around do you take unbalance errors such as dC or uC?

Do you want to DIY the fix or call in a repair service. If you could confirm your machine model number......Rich

Does anyone have the schematic for LCD control

Tom,
I don’t believe you will find a schematic for the control board. I have a FAV6800AW all I have be able to find is the wiring schematic found in the FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW Service Manual.
Is your machine out of the 5yr warranty period for the Control Board? I got Maytag to send me one.
Saw this on e-bay
