This unit is probably just aging out and finally given up working. The first sign of problems is when you should have looked for solutions to the problem. When a unit start to malfunction it is usually a sign that it is overheating or aging out. Sometimes this occurs in new unit , but that is usually faulty components. This problem shows up early and can be fixed or replaced. In older units the whole mechanism is aging out and there can be numerous problems leading to a major failure. In these cases only a replacement is really cost effective. Hope this helps you with your problem.

No power going to unit

This is very technical problem. It is the power supply. A very sensitive circuit board, in fact i just fixed one today. The way these power supply works is they convert the ac directly to DC. Then switch on and off at high frequency of typically over a hundred thousand times per second to drive a special transformer to deliver power to the unit. On larger unit the screen is driven by several high voltage transformers and probably that wnet out first thats why it lost picture. Finally the main power supply went out as well. When I fixed the one I did today I had to find a technical data on the chips that like a freakin engineer analyzing a circuit. In dept understanding of electronic theory is a must. Now you may find a power supply on e bay or something thats about the best advice i can give you.

Have picture, no sound

I've had this trouble too. Not sure how to fix it, but I've found a work-around:

Remove DVD.
Insert Audio CD.
Wait for audio to play.
Remove audio CD.
Reinsert DVD.
Sound should work again.

If you power off the unit, you may have to try this procedure again.

Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD doesn't work, Help! please.

It sounds like a common problem with these units, which is easily fixed...

Open the unit and look at the capacitors on the power supply circuit board, there are probably some bulging or leaking caps on it, just replace them and you should be good to go. You should replace them with a little higher voltage but keep the same micro-farad value. ie: use a 16volt in place of a 12volt.

Replace the lamp, also the shut down time is correct the unit must allow plenty of time proper lamp cooling. otherwise the lamp life will be greatly shortend. normal lamp life is 3000 hrs.
lamp replacement may require an internal limp timer reset have a qualified tech replace the lamp.
