If you are not getting any lights at all now, check the AC adapter.

If you have a voltmeter, see if anything is showing up on the DC (hard drive) side of the cord.

If you dont have a meter, use the tongue trick. Lay the connector on your tongue, perpendicularly and see if you feel any tingling. Make sure your tongue touches the outer and the inner chamber of the barrel connector. If you dont feel anything, the adapter is bad. You should be able to find one on E-Bay. Make sure it is the same type of a supply. If you cant find the exact same adapter, look for one with higher current (AMP) rating than the old one, not lower. Voltage has to be the same, a 0.x variation is not the end of the world.

Alternatively you can just rip the sucker apart and take out the internal drive. Buy a $10 enclosure and use it in there.

If the power supply is ok, and you feel tingling on your tongue, it's the controller board in the drive cage or the drive itself.

Take the drive apart, and try to plug it into your machine internally. If the drive works, then it's the controller in the cage. If the drive does not work, then you are out of options and need a new one. If that is the case, and you need your data, there are companies that can recover for a nominal fee of around $1000 on average.

I had the same problem - green light on power cord but when plugged in the green light would go off and the hard drive would do nothing. I took it into Geek Squad finally and it turned out that the problem was hard drive casing, which I had to have replaced.

The click click click is the hard drive trying to spin up. Either the hard drive is not getting enough power, which is not likely since you have tried it on other computers, or the hard drive is bad.
You've had the hard drive for a few years and I would say it's at the end of it's life. They are not end user repairable, so your only choice left is to get a new one.

Probolem with power cable

Power loss on a drive even if it is not transferring could be severe. Especially with Lacie gear. The bridgeboard ( which is the chip that transfers the content between the drive and the ports on the enclosure ) can fail instantainously if power varies or is cut. The major concern is if the internal drive is effected ( in the enclosure .)

Those things are cute, but not that reliable.
