It is stating that incorrect paper size and I cannot get it cleared out

I cannot receive any faxes. It states I have faxes in memory and then it flashes incorrect paper size. This is what I have done to try to correct it. Set back at default. Change paper to make sure it is letter size Unplugged it and left it for 3 days hoping it would clear out- It did not. Try to change the settings. HELP- MY BUSINESS IS AT STOP!! cliesman@cptmed.biz

Your memory might be too full. Try to delete your memory and see if that will help.

My Canon Laser Class 710 fax machine is flashing a red error and the message states ''received in memory'' .. How do I clear it?

You could be out of toner = new toner cartridge.
You could be out of paper = reload paper
You could have a printer problem, paper jam, door open, etc

get the printer part working.

does it print a report if you press the 'report' key?

RECEIVED IN MEMORY
If the machine receives a fax under one of the following conditions, the machine will not be able to print the received fax and will store it in its memory.
When the problem is resolved as described, the fax stored in memory is printed automatically.
bullet_s.gif Ink is low or has run out while receiving a fax: replace the FINE Cartridge.
bullet_s.gif Paper size/type setting is incorrect: correct the paper size/type setting.
bullet_s.gif Paper has run out while receiving a fax: load the paper and press the OK button.
bullet_s.gif Output Tray is closed: open it.
bullet_s.gif OFF is selected for AUTO PRINT RX: select ON.
bullet_s.gif You pressed the Stop/Reset button to cancel printing of a fax: press the FAX button.

Sounds like something is going on with your ADF. It should be looked at by a technician.

Fax

From the manual:

If ink has run out while receiving a fax, if the paper size setting is incorrect, or if the paper type is set to a type other than plain paper, the fax is automatically stored in memory and <Received in memory.> is displayed. When the ink tank is replaced or the paper size/type setting is corrected, the stored fax is printed automatically.

Also, if the machine is in the process of something else (printing from computer, making a copy, scanning to computer), when a fax comes in it will be saved to memory, but it should print within a few minutes of becoming idle again.

Constant messages "Check Paper Size"

Try this first..... Some faxes can be configured for different paper sizes for timing of the preinting process. This would be either tabs on the back of the paper drawer of a soft setting found in the owners manual.
