When booting up it takes about 15 min to get to the vista loading screen then immediately switches to an error screen telling me to shut down and restart. I tried to reinstall vista and Fdisk to XP but each time I do after it goes through the initial loading it says I have no drivers to support the system. How can i fix that? I didn't receive a backup disk of the drivers when i bought the laptop two christmas's ago.
If the computer was "new" and was shipped with Vista installed, the manufacturer probably "designed" the computer for Vista, and did not create/include device-drivers for Windows XP.
So, trying to install XP will not work.
So, insert the Microsoft Vista CD-ROM (the one shipped with the computer, not a CD-ROM purchased from a retail store, nor borrowed from a friend), and boot from it, and reinstall Vista.
What manufacturer/model of laptop? Some manufacturers will ship you a set of CDs/DVDs to replace the ones that were shipped with the new computer.

it's an ACER Aspire 5315 PC Notebook it didn't come with any back up disks at all. I bought it from walmart christmas of 06 when they had that deal on the laptops for $200. All i got was a laptop, power cord, and a case.
