Question about Panasonic PT-53WX52 53" Rear Projection Television
My picture appears that the red projection has been pinched. It curves up from the bottom and down from the top and the red has dominated the picture. Convergence ha done nothing to solve the problem. The only trhing that has helped at all is adjusting the slide on the red projector.
You may still have a convergence problem, but what you need to do is to make sure that all of the bias resistors have been checked. That is why I am against the old replace the STK392-110 catch all convergence repair line. However what I want you to do is actually troubleshoot this set. That will mean determining if the voltages on the convergence correction amplifiers are good, if the convergence coils are good and if the deflection yokes are good. You will need the schematic diagram to aid you with the task of troubleshooting along with a multimeter, and oscilloscope, and a signal generator. If you however do not have electronics experience, I would suggest taking the TV to a qualified TV repair shop. I know this might not be what you want to hear, but it is good advice.
I hope this helps,
