Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3c Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Won't Charge My Razr went through the washing machine the other day, let it dry out and on initial tests and talking found that it works fine after a few glitches that fixed themselves.  Now that my battery is basically dead and I have tried to re-charge it several times now and it won't take a charge, it won't even read that it is plugged into the charger.  I don't think it is the charger because I have tried my car charger too.  Any suggestions???

I put my Droid Razr on charger but battery symbol comes on with ? mark. Won't charge or turn on.

1. Turn off your phone when it's not in use. If you're not using your Verizon Wireless Razr, then shut it off. Your battery will last much longer if you regularly do this.
2. Charge your phone less. If you charge your Razr nightly, then your cell phone battery won't last long. Try to charge your phone only a few times a week to extend the battery life.
3. Keep your Bluetooth turned off when you're not using it. Applications, like Bluetooth, are notorious for sucking the power from a cell phone battery.
4. Protect your Razr from extreme temperatures. Your cell phone battery lasts longer if kept at room temperature.
5. Discharge the Razr fully. Before you charge your phone, let it completely die. You can extend the life of the battery by regularly discharging and then fully charging it.
6. Leave the battery in the phone. Keep the Razr battery dry and free of dirt to prolong its life.

Motorola razr has red dot inside phone

The phone has gotten wet somehow.......

Remove the battery!! Let the phone sit in a warm place for several days. Keep checking once a day or so to see if it will work. Always remove the battery while drying. If after a few days of drying it still is not fucntioning, it's wasted!

Razr v3 wont charge

Dear jayhawk9977,

Since the AC is fine (tested) then the phone is probably faulty at the Mini-USB connector. Please check if there is play at this point as a broken (damaged that is) connector will not perform any function. (Test is as well with your handsfree if any) If there is no audio at this point 99% is the connector.

Surely the pins that are used are not the same for charging/handsfree but you can get an idea if the problem is bigger than thought initially.

Problematic batteries can also lead to non charging. 3.6-3.7V (+0.3V) is nominal voltage that the battery works. (if you have a multimeter please test it as well)

Many regards

Flash stuck on LG VX6100

If it survived one dunking it will most liklet survive a second SOOOOO. I am into R/C stuff and when our gear gets dunked we rinse it out with ultra pure water, Deionised/distilled water if you can get it. I think that the detergent in the washing machine may have left a residue and be affecting your electronics so if you wash it carefully in distilled water (yep dunk it again, crack it open and wash it all inside)to get rid of the detergent residue on the board (note REMOVE BATTERY). Afterwards dunk it in methylated spirits (test to make sure it wont affect any plastic parts first)to remove the water and leave to dry in a warm spot for a day at least. 2 years ago I dropped a $500 transmitter in a dirty dam (Acid /fuel/road runoff)and did exactly this and its been fine ever since. Worked the next day in fact. Its not a mobile phone but its always worth a chance. Once you've finished you may want to take it apart after you've tested it if its going and spray the board with CRC 226 circuit cleaner and water repeller. I've got it on all of my R/C gear and it gets regularly soaked for up to 1hr at a time in muddy water and is all fine.
