The only light is the green power light. However, when first booting up I get a display for about a half second and then screen goes black and does not display again.

  • richard_w323 May 19, 2009

No lights in rear of monitor. Can find no logical way to get into the monitor to do anything further.

  • richard_w323 May 19, 2009

I have rechecked, there is just no way I can find to remove back cover of monitor. Thanks for trying to help. Appears I will need to purchase a new monitor.

Ok, your monitor problem is the inverter or lamps is not working well. you need do:
1) first thing you need check power board capacitors if there is any swelled it should replace. check all DCoutput voltages like 5V/12V etc. normall
2) check the inverter board it can maks this problem
3) if inverter works normall that is lamps at downside getting old, need to change.

Aoc lm725 display off after few seconds

I've had a very similar issue on many Dell Monitors. Mine have been under warranty and they usually send me a new monitor, but I believe the issue lies with the power supply within the monitor.

Problem with the risolution

Hi,

To my understanding, an AOC LM729 is capable of 1280 x 1024 and therefore should be able to display your preferred 1024x768 .

Perhaps you need to set the PC's Display Screen Refresh Rate to 75 Hz or lower (DisplayProperties/Settings/Advanced/Monitor).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I assume you only found the 4 mount screws in the back... You also need to take off the front silver edging - it pops off with some negotiating, but if you find the right spots and don't pry hard it will come off clean without too much difficulty. Then take out the screws that hold the screen inside and it should drop out.
