Question about Sony KP-61V85 61" Rear Projection Television
Was watching a program then picture went off still had sound then i powered off and now no audio or video just a click and steady red lite,timer standy,no flashes please help as im disabled and live 60 miles from nearest repair sshop and dont really trust the shops available to me as they possibly will try to charge way to much or just plain lie. thank you god bless
Check for burnt,shorted capacitor near flyback xformer =
replace if bad.Check power supply for open 2 amp pico fuse.
Work to be done by skilled technician.........T.

If you are a qualified technician then you can try removing the flyback transformer FBT and have it check thru a flyback checker from any electronic repair shop. You will be able to confirm whether you have a problem in the high voltage section. Which would likely is the case. If FBT is OK look for a shortgae in the horizontal section specially the horizontal output transistor. good luck
