My rear speakers are suddenly doing this buzzing sound. I tried different speakers and different cords, and it seems to have come down to the speaker outlets. What could be the problem ?

External speakers ? try them on something else.? Internal speakers ? sounds like an issue with either the software...OR a dry joint on the board?? What leads are being used? check everything you can in order to eliminate the problem.

I purchased an akai its and older model i assume it has the big back on it but a flat screen about a 50inch tv when you hit the power button it cuts on the cuts right back it makes amlost like buzz sound...

Sorry this problems u describing it is not good. The tv having a buzzing sound mean the tv FBT-flyback tranformer is dead and it is not giving the tv anymore high voltages to the tv screen. Also the deflection circuitries board have some dead components too.Sorry can't give u a price, because this tv have to get an estamate prices by a tvs tech. and trouble shoot major sections of the tv circuitries and replacing parts. It vary from shops to shops.Must call many tvs shops get an estamate and compair prices.

Akai PT5598HD 55 in. Rear Projection

Something like this Id have someone who knows there way around electronics, a qualified tech or someone you trust really well :-) Does the crackling affect the TV picture at all ? My first guess would be dust and or dampness on the audio components. Sometimes this can conduct electricity across small pc chips and reak all sorts of havoc. I had an old Tomas electric organ once, and it actually caught fire because two speaker wires were rubbing together and eventually wore thru the insulation and shorted out, but it was also making alot of crackling and static noises. Try raising and lowering the volume low to high and high to low and see if the crackling noises gets worse. Some audio amplifiers put out quite a bit of power, so I wouldnt trust leaving the TV on without a fire extinguisher handy.
