Question about Xerox Phaser 6100/BD Laser Printer
I never get a 'toner low' message I only change it when it no longer prints correctly, is there a way to see actually how much toner is left in the other colors so I know which one to replace? I feel like I am wasting toner by not know what exactly to replace.
On the 6100 toner detection is very unraliable.
The best way you can determine if the ink is low, is to remove the cartridge and look at the roller for streaks.
Sorry, but thats pretty much the only way to determine it accuratly.
Those cartridges only make 3000 pages each and that based on a 5 percent coverage. If you are running a lot of graphics, the life will be less than 1000 pages.

I was looking on http://office.support.xerox.com and I really hate there way of doing this. They advised that sometime below 30% you start to notice lines missing they advise (old School) to open the front panel remove the toner it solid across the front. if it is not to shake the toner to distribute the toner evenly again. They also advised that thier display panel doesn't always show when it is empty. I wish I could help more, but it sounds like they need to catch up alittle with thier printer warning.

Tips for a great answer:
The blinking toner cartridge is low. Order a new toner cartridge. You can temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the toner. See "Redistributing Toner" on page 5.2
