Won't turn on. only a short series of high pitched clicks.

Hold the trigger switch and only get a quick series of high pitched clocks then nothing.

On my rainbow e series the power nozzle roller isn't spinning when I press the trigger even though all power is working fine. The roller is fairly new. I've also checked that nothing is blocking the hose...

Power must run from the vacuum through the hose where the trigger mechanism closes the circuit and allows power to pass through the hose to the wand, then to the power nozzle. A short or bad connection in any of these areas will cause the power nozzle motor to not run.

Dc17 won't turn on

there is a reset button under the cover that houses the on/off switches. remove the handle/wand and look on the back (where the top of the hose sits) for 2 screws (its a torx/star head screw size t10 i believe). remove them and locate 4 small locking tabs that hold the switch cover to the frame of the vacuum. Depress them and pop the cover off (2 towards the top and 2 towards the bottom). Youll see 3 switches (2 square red buttons and one small cylindrical shaped one). Push the small red one (the one to the left if my memory serves me right). you should hear a click. if you do than the switch is reset. if not check all connections to all 3 switches. if you see nothing loose or not connected, you may need a new brushbar motor.

Need manual for Travel Companion Model S1500 Alarm Clock

Travel alarm clocks can have varying instructions, depending on the type of clock you are using. Here are some tips for use that will apply to any alarm clock.

  1. Power source
    • Travel alarm clocks will need to have some sort of power source. Depending on the type of alarm clock, it might be battery-powered or it might have a cord that needs to be plugged in. Battery-powered alarm clocks can take mini watch batteries, AAA batteries or sometimes AA batteries. Travel alarm clocks, because of their tiny size, usually have the small batteries that need to be bought from a watch store or a dollar store. Before you leave, make sure you have a working power source and can turn it on.
    Changing the time
    • After you reach your final destination, power the alarm clock on. Now you'll need to set the time and date correctly. Check a watch, cell phone or television to get the exact time and locate the buttons or dials on your alarm clock. On some, there will be a "time" or an "hour" button you need to press and hold to activate the alarm time change. While you are holding it down, turn the dial, press the hour button or press the (+) button until you notice a time change. On others, simply pressing the hour or minute button will let you change the time shown.
    Setting AM/PM
    • The AM/PM option is critical in setting your alarm clock correctly. Make sure the LCD display on your clock has a light beside the correct AM or PM setting, or look for the letters AM or PM on the display. If you get this wrong, the alarm won't go off in the morning!
    Setting alarm time
    • To set the alarm time, look for a button or a switch that says alarm. If there is a switch, move it to the alarm setting. If it is a button, you'll need to hold it down until the time starts flashing, signaling time to change the hours and minutes to the desired alarm time, or hold it down while you press the hours and minutes buttons to reach the alarm time you want.
    Turn alarm on
    • Now double-check that your regular and alarm times are correct by switching the switch back and forth again, or by pressing the alarm/time buttons long enough to read the time set. There should be a picture of a bell somewhere on your LCD display showing that the alarm is set to "on." If there isn't, look for the on/off alarm button and move it to the correct position.
    Music options
    • The last step is finding the alarm wake-up option. Not all travel alarm clocks have this option, but if yours does there will be a switch or button that lets you choose to wake up by a buzzer, the radio, a CD, or another device.

I have a unit that is about 4 years old and appears to NOT hold a charge. I know to only charge for 3 hrs max but want to be sure my problem is the $75.00 battery before I purchase one. What is your...

Your battery is losing voltage too quick. It has probably developed a 'memory'. Dyson claims that their handheld has the best suction out of all the handhelds out there. In order to maintain that claim the circuit board will shut off power to the motor when the voltage drops below adequate charge for full suction.
We need someone who can teach us to bypass that part of the circuit so it won't cut power to the motor or you need to get a new battery.
Shorting the battery like an Aircraft battery then re-charging won't fix it.

Rainbow E series sounds "whiny" and loud while running

The whinning sound may be the bearings are bad. This will have to be taken care of or it will wear your motor brushes down very quickly. It is not generally caused by the filter, but by not be cleaned properly and may have been stored on its water basin.
