Question about Thermaltake Silver River 3.5" Encl Silver IDE / EIDE, Serial ATA, USB 2.0, eSATA Internal Drive Case
Whenever I turn on my Silver River 3.5" Encl Silver IDE / EIDE, Serial ATA, USB 2.0, eSATA Internal Drive Case the light that shows the drive is working just flashes between the red idle light and the blue working light. During this time my harddrive does not do anything, and is in fact cold to the touch.
The first thing you need to do is figure out if it is the Hard Drive itself or the enclosure.
The best way to do that is remove it from the enclosure & test it either in a PC directly or in another enclosure. If it works, then you can test the enclosure by inserting another Hard Drive & testing it. This should tell you which component is bad.
