Question about HP Hewlett Packard Compaq 6720s Laptop Computer - Intel Core 2 Duo T5270 1.4GHz, 802.11a/b/g Wireless, 2GB DDR2, 160 PC Notebook
A clue is in the error message you get "hard drive failure" this means the hard drive which holds the operating system is corrupt and will not allow a reinstall, you have to purchase a new hard drive before you can reinstall the operating system and then you'll be good to go.
If the laptop is still covered my the manufacturers warranty i recommend you take advantage of that and send it in for repair, if its out of warranty you'll be able to get one from any reputable PC store.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
