Hotel Lock I have a number of Television sets which I know have Hotel Lock functions set on them and cannot be retuned without unlocking them. I believe the 'lock' is a combination of keys on the remote but do not have any idea which ones. Please can you help?

I accidentally locked the channel of our tv and it was asking for a 4 digit password nobody know what the password is, how can we unlock the tv?

First of all, read the manual that came with it, and if you don't have the original, look online for it, and search for the default PIN number(usually 0000, or 1234). If it has been manually changed by a previous owner, try asking them. If that doesn't get results, see if there is a Master pin # for the TV, and enter that through your ORIGINAL TV remote. Sometimes Universal ones work, but I wouldn't hold your breath. I have an ex-hotel flatscreen Philips, and it took me ages to find out that it had a Master Remote, and a secondary one for guests, and the Master one could alter the functions, like lock out the HDMI plug(to discourage plugging in your laptop, and force you to watch PPV TV, oh, yay), and I finally tracked down the master unlock for it.
Another option is, if it's a digital TV box, contact the manufacturer, and see if they can help, in regards to resetting the unit to factory settings. It will mean you will need to retune your TV to get the channels, but at least you can then chose your own passcode.
Hope that helps, and cheers from New Zealand! ;)

Toshiba television 21s23b2 the tv is in hotel mode, so i cannot retune it.. any ideas ?

To release it out from hotel mode to normal mode, you have to enter its service mode option. If you are sound in electronics, check the site linked here. It has details about how to enter, adjust and exit the service mode, to many brand TVs including Toshiba.
NEVER attempt to enter the service mode, if you are not sound in electronics, and don't know what it is.

Pull up previous posts by its left sidebar, or type in the brand name and model number to of your set, to its search box, and press 'Enter' or view it in Mosaic / Timeslide option.

Hard reset

Most TVs have a parental control lock that can be set to prevent children from watching specific television shows. In order to activate or deactivate the controls, you need to know the four digit security code or parental lock control password. If you forget the number you chose or if the lock gets set accidentally, it is still possible to unlock the TV.
Instructions
Turn on the TV and grab the remote. In most cases, you will need the original remote to unlock the TV if you aren't sure of the unlock code. If you don't have the original remote, you will need to purchase one.
Look at the screen. If you see a blank screen with a red key on the bottom of the screen, press 'Function' and 'Mute' at the same time. This should unlock the channel. This is an option for people who want the TV to stay locked but, want to be able to bypass the lock to watch a certain show or channel. All other channels will remain locked and the TV will fully lock when it is turned off.
Unlock all of the channels on the TV by entering the factory reset code. There are three main reset codes that TV manufacturers set. These are 0711, 6688 and 3308. Try each one until you find the one that works. This will reset the TV to original factory settings. When you do this, you will loose any information that you have stored in the TV, such as favorite channels, automatic timers and the clock. You will have to go through the full initial set up.
Call the technical support service number in your owner's manual if none of those codes work. A technician can help you troubleshoot the television because the problem may not be the locking control. When you call, make sure that you have the model number and serial number of the TV.Take your television to a TV repair shop. In some cases, a professional who access to wiring diagrams for your television set may have to rewire certain components in order for the television to unlock. This is usually the case when the TV locks by itself while it is on.

How do i disable the child lock

Many Jensen TVs have a parental lock that can be set to stop children from watching certain television shows or channels. In order to activate or deactivate the controls, you have to know the four-digit code or parental lock passcode. If you forget the passcode or if the lock gets set accidentally, you can still unlock the TV.

Turn on the TV using the remote control. In most cases, you will need the original Jensen remote to unlock the TV if you aren't sure of the unlock code. You can purchase an original replacement online if necessary.

• Look at the screen. If you see a red key on the bottom of the screen, press "Function" and "Mute" on the remote at the same time. This will unlock the channel. Do this if you want to bypass the lock to watch a certain show or channel while leaving the TV locked. All other channels will remain locked and the TV will lock again when it is turned off.

• Unlock all of the channels on the TV by entering 0711 or 3308. These are the Jensen factory reset codes that will reset the TV to the original factory settings. By doing this, you will loose any information that you have stored in the TV, such as channel labels and schedules. You will have to program the TV again by going through the entire initial set up.

•Call the technical support service number in your owner's manual if neither of those codes work. A technician can help you troubleshoot the television as the problem may not be the parental lock feature. Have the model number and serial number of the TV available when you call.
• Take your television to a TV repair shop if neither of the codes work and the TV locked by itself while it was turned on. In this case, the TV may need to be rewired

Remove hotel lock

You have to get into its Service Menu option to unlock Hotel Mode. Contact any service technician. They only can do it, as entering into service mode, and adjust data values there; without any knowledge about it; might make the TV irreparable.

Need to know how to unlock my rankarenna tv model ba34combo tv

Hi brett
To answer your question;
Since the brand name"rankarenna" that you gave us seems to be completely unknown , i `can`t tell you where to look in your menu.
But i can tell you that the keylock is a feature used in different brands and i believe it was made so that little fingers could`nt play with the tv settings.
And the only way to remove it is with the remote and into the tv menu,
The lock function in the menu could be listed for example; under setup or feature or any other functions than audio/video.
Look carefully through your menu and it has to be there.
Hope this will help Good luck
