I have the manual and have read it thoroughly. It tells you how to add a handset, but not how to delete or unregister a handset. It even tells you to press the softkey under "NEW"?? There is no such notification or label. There has to be a way to delete registered phone. I called AT&T and they say it's a discontinued phone and they can offer no advise other than check the manual. I have checked the 3358 Manula nd the 5800 Manual, I have them both in pdf format. However, nothing about deleting or unregistering a handset.

    Thanks

I know how to register a handset. But, if I've used or broken handsets there can only be 6 handsets registered and 4 in use. I need to Unregister the broken/inoperative sets to make room for a new one.

How to delete/unregister existing inoperative handsets??

None of these comments helped my case of having 6 handsets registered, but one is broke and needs replacing. I can't figure out how to de-register handset #5 (5th of 6). Manual doesn't say anything and I can find a solution surfing anywhere yet - Help!!!

About Handset Registration • You must register this (and any other) handset with the base, following the directions in “REGISTER THE HANDSET.” This handset is compatible with telephone models 3358/3658B/ . • The original handset that came with the base is automatically registered as Handset 1. • Additional handsets will be assigned Handset 2, Handset 3, Handset 4, Handset 5, and Handset 6. • Whenever you install a handset battery pack, the handset will display SEARCHING FOR BASE (if it’s registered) or ENTER BASE ID (if it’s not registered). TOREGISTER THE HANDSET
To Model 3358/3658B Base Unit 1 Make sure to charge the handset battery pack at least 12 hours. 2 At the cordless handset, use the softkey to select NEW. 3 Enter the 15-digit Base Unit ID Code located on the underside of your Model 5830/5870/3358/3658B base. 4 Use the softkey to select OK. The screen displays PLEASE WAIT!!. 5 After about 45 seconds, the screen displays FOUND BASE. If the handset displays BASE BUSY TRY LATER, the base is in use.

I am trying to replace a handeset on my E5640 answering system. I have followed the procedures to deregister the existing handsets but it will not accept the base code for the last one. The handset I am...

  • Your telephone can accommodate up to four cordless handsets. You can add new handsets (Model E560-2, sold separately) at any time, but each must be registered with the base before use.
  • The handset provided with your telephone is automatically registered as Handset 1.
  • Additional handsets will be assigned numbers in the order they are registered (2, 3 or 4). You can register a maximum of four handsets.
To de-register all handsets
• Unplug the power supply from the base unit.
• Remove all handsets from the charge cradles and base.
• Plug in the power supply while pressing and holding the HANDSET LOCATOR button.
• Continue pressing HANDSET LOCATOR until the IN USE and CHARGING indicators are lit (this could take up to 10 seconds).
• Release the HANDSET LOCATOR button.
• All handsets will display: ENTER BASE ID: XXXXXXXXXX
Once the base indicators turn off (up to 30 seconds), the handsets have been de-registered from the base, and can now be re-registered.

To re-register a handset:
• Make sure your handset batteries are properly installed and charged.
• Your handset will display "ENTER BASE ID".
• Enter the 15-digit Base ID number from the bottom of the base unit.
• Press SELECT to accept the new code and complete re-registration.

To re-register a handset to a new base unit:
• Make sure your handset batteries are properly installed and charged.
• Unplug the old base unit. Your handset will display "SEARCHING...".
• Install the new base unit by plugging it into an electrical outlet and phone jack.
• Press and hold the SELECT key until the handset displays "ENTER BASE ID".
• Enter the new 15-digit Base ID number from the bottom of the new base unit.
• Press SELECT to accept the new code and complete re-registration. The handset is now registered to the new base.

I bought 2 sets of the uniden DECT 1480-3. I want 6 handsets to work with one base. How do I add 3 handsets to a base that already has 3 handsets?

Jill,
The only logical way is to get the additional handsets to communicate with the base. And to do that you must set them to the frequency of the base. You Use guide will tell you how to set the frequency n the handsets to talk to the base. They way you set the original ones.
BUT, I doubt if this will work. Why? Because if that was the case if you and I had the same company phones, then I would stand outside your home and set the same frequency on my handset and misuse your phone. A great security risk in today's world. But there is no harm trying it out. Just set the same frequency on the additional ones as the base. If it works, then you will have that many more intercoms too. And do let me know if it works.

At&t 3358 base speaker is not working

You may need to set the main handset to synchronize with the base unit plugged into the telephone wall jack and assign special configuration numbers to the other handsets in order to properly identify each one within a specified location. One handset left in the turned on mode may make it impossible to place calls with the any of the other handsets. This will continue until either the battery dies or fails on the handset or the phone is switched off and replaced in its charger for charging again. Synchronize the main handset by pressing the MENU button on the handset, then pressing the down button IN order to select the number you wish to assign to that handset. Repeating this process if you have already done so will greatly decrease the level of errors experienced with phones.

Did you recently replace you old phones with these phones? Maybe the old handset of the phones are interfering with them...remove batteries from old handsets, as they may be searching.

Uniden Cordless Phone Model DSS7855. frequently fails to connect to an incoming call, with 'out of range' indication. The phone is less than 1 meter from the base station.

The handset/base keeps a record of who it’s registered to. The base also keeps a record of how many handsets are registered to it.

Using the de-register function on the handset deletes the handset from the base (decrements the count) and deletes the base info from the handset. All this requires that the base and handset can communicate with each other.

To remove the base data from a handset when out of range of the base, press and hold the ‘end’ button and the ‘#’ button simultaneously until the phone beeps. It will now be de-registered from the base.

However, the base will still have this handset in it’s record.

To de-register all handsets from the base, remove power and the base handset. Press and hold the ‘flash/find hs’ button while applying power. Wait for the beep and release the button. The charge light will now flash. Sit any handset in the cradle. When the flashing stops, all handsets are inhibited from connecting.

However, the handset still appears to be connected to the base unit. Pressing talk will give an ‘Unable to connect’ message. To re-register the handsets to the base, you have to de-register the handset first with the two button method.

Of interest, pressing ‘*’ and ‘#’ on the handset while reconnecting the battery is suppose to reset the handset. Doing the same on the base unit puts you in some sort of diagnostic mode. Press speaker to exit.
