Check your memory reseat or clean it with a soft eraser. Only its edge connector. do this when the unit is off and no any power source is connected including the battery.

And some say there is an issue of memory positioning. Its shouldn't be fully locked in.

This linked will be helpful if memory positioning is an issue to this. And other trouble but mainly a memory issue.

    Just read first.

Sorry, its you have to "reseat" - take out and then take in the memory card. Then in your present situation you have to have an assistance from your friends that knows how to do it. If you want to know it then ask him how. Or service shop if you can ask him how to do it. But they charge you for service fee.

Ok I just found the right service manual for your unit. Just check for comparison of your unit.

    Try this link

Just click the link for the specified component. For this memory, you can either view or download your manual have a copy printed. Then follow the process.

    Hope this help.

But disconnect all power even battery and free your hands with static.

I have a Dell Latitude D600 that worked perfectly fine, until around a few months ago. It starts up normally and takes me to a DELL startup and then takes me to a black screen that says this: Windows...

Have you tried starting windows using the safe mode, and if it does start up in the safe mode, did you try to restore your system to a previous date that it was working properly. Sometimes when you have your kind of problem, even though several months have past, the calender for restore is lock too at the time your system went down. this gives you the opportunity to restore to a date close to when your system failed.
Before you try restore, make sure you do not have a virus that has corrupted you system, run a virus scan first. If you haven't done so I suggest downloading Malwarebytes anti-malware that is free online, it works very well, and Microsoft uses it for there systems.
I hope this is helpful, good luck, I hope you don't have to purchase the setup CD.

D600 everything works fine but no display

I have one and I have the same problem sometimes. Upon start up you see and hear everything start up but nothing on the display.
When this happens on mine I shut it back down, and after re-starting it I press CTRL- ALT- DEL (warm boot). I don't know why it works but on mine it does. I've tried updating the bios, different memory, etc... it's something in the motherboard.

I have a Dell Latitude D600 struggling to boot

I had the same problem as you with two of these D600's. I'm pretty sure it's not a RAM issue, more likely a problem with the motherboard. I reckon it's time for you to get a new one .. i did!

Display not working properly

You should be able to plug in an external (Desktop type) monitor . Look for a connector on the side or back of the laptop. If the external monitor works, you have pretty much diagnosed that you have a LCD problem.
