I have a Mistubishi WD -65731 HDTV. The sound went out while watching. It has not retunred, even after going throught all the trouble shooting. A system reset still doed not bring th sound back.

Never had a problem before this. Sounds like speakers turn on when you turn the set on, but no sound is produced.

SOURCE: My DLP TV made a loud popping sound then went off

first. unplug the set for 5 minutes and see if it will reboot. if it does not the you have 2 problems, the chassis is also bad. next open the lamp door cover, it is behind the speaker grill, and behind the lamp door.
take out the lamp and see if it has broken on the inside if it has it needs to be replaced. mits will send you one i believe it is about 100.00 the number is 915P020010. if the lamp looks ok then the color wheel has probably fallen apart.if this is the case the light engine need to be repaired. check out www.tv-techs.com

SOURCE: I replaced lamp in my television(Mitsubishi

Hello maybe I can be of some help. According to the service manual for that model: With tv on, press the FORMAT and INPUT buttons simultaneously. This should immediately start the initialization process. The tv will reboot at the end of this sequence. LED will stop flashing when process has concluded. This will reset all user settings to factory default so you may have to reset any that you had previously changed. You probably also know there is a system reset button on the front panel which is accessable only with a paper clip or toothpick. Those are the only two consumer resets. Good luck, Russmann.

IF it is a Mitsubishi WS-55613 rear projection set---

You with the Mitsubishi remote go into the customer menu and select Audio(it should be a separate item) and look for a setting for speakers--right cursor to it and up or down cursor to change it.

Some models may have this feature in the SETUP part of the menu.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-65731, After watching for an hour or two, the screen is taken over by a pink or purple color. We just got it back after replacing the optical engine.

You need to have the servicer check and re-seat all the connections to the light engine. It is also possible that the new engine may be at fault.
