TV remote won't work

My remote stopped working for my Emerson TV model EWT19S2 so I purchased another factory original remote N0158UD, the exact same model number as the one I got with the TV and it also does not work.  I tried brand new batteries and even a replacement remote but none of them worked.  Is it possible the problem is the sensor in the TV and if so, how do I fix it?

-   I am having aproblem with my Emerson EWT19S2 19" TV remote. It suddenly stopped working. I have tried new batteries and, I purchased a new remote and it will not work either. Is there a solution to this. If so, please help me.-   menbub
