Monitor button flashes green light

Main Pc Monitor is black but the small green light is flashing...! I have the same problem with a 1 year old Acer AL 2023! It will eventually switch on but it seems to take longer each time! It's up to an hour and a half now!

I heard one source say you need a new power tube or power tube high voltage converter and another say the problem can be solved by taking it apart and soldering the transistors! I've not tried either yet. Is there not a simpler solution that costs nothing or very little?

Ok for the the pricey one horizontal output transistor or flyback, or both is defective.

Next is your main filter capacitor is leaky or drying up already. Try to check for bloated capacitor.

Third check your signal cable to monitor if it is good resolder if this is wiggling or broken solder. Or just loose connection to socket.

For others, are your CPU is actually booting or you have to check the RAM for dirt. Or if you are using a small AVR, it could choke the unit with power try to connect it directly to power source with the same voltage and frequency.

Power button light flashes (blue flashing light) and monitor is black. I can't turn off the monitor with the power button. I have to unplug it to turn it off.

You may have problem in the power supply section, that wil be the first place to check. Look for caps with bulging/leaking tops first.
Please see my photo albums so you will know what to look for.

Power button goes on and off, and no response

Power drain the computer by removing the battery and power adapter and press the power button for 1 minute. then insert back in the battery also the adapter to your computer and start the computer.

If the solution won't work
, try using flash light on the monitor,if you can see anything on your screen, possible backlight is the problem, however to isolate also the issue you may use an external monitor to check if you can have a video using other monitor and if not? you may contact the tech support of your system for possible mechanical failure.

hope it helps.

please post positive comments and rate.

Monitor problem

The power light is flashing green can indicate start/restart of the power supply due to shorts circuits or failing power supply due to bad caps, look for bad caps with bulging top first, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Green Flash power only on one computer

It sounds like the monitor functions properly and your computer functions properly, but the combination causes a problem. Try making sure the screen resolution on your main computer is set to an acceptable resolution for your monitor - AL1916. Try setting it low to 800x600 and move up from there until it doesn't work anymore. You can change the screen resolution from the Display Settings (right click on the desktop and select Display Settings) window.
