Hello dejbutcher:

The Spark Arrestor Screen is in the Muffler. It is Either Attached to the Outside of the Muffler or Inside the Muffler. If Mounted on the Outside, then you can Remove the Bolts Holding the Cover and Simply Remove the Screen and Clean it or Replace it with a New Screen. If it is Inside the Muffler and the Muffler is a Sealed Unit and Does Not Seperate, then a New Muffler is Required. If the Muffler will Seperate, then the Screen can be Cleaned or Replaced just like the Extrernal Spark Arrestor Screen.
You can View a Breakdown of this Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.ryobitools.com/parts and Select "Go to Ryobi Outdoor Parts Store". Now Select "Repair Parts Catalog". Select I Agree to Terms. Now Enter the Model Numbers and Click Search. Now Double Click on you Model in the Results Area.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If I Missed Something or you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

Respectfully

Where is the spark arrestor on the RY26000

Hi James Ferguson
Your spark arrestor is in the muffler of the trimmer.
You will dissassemble the muffler and there will be a type of screen/metal with holes,etc...that is your spark arrestor.
Clean and reassemble and your good to go
Please take time to rate me

Also go to the following webpage to see a spark arrestor cleaning, not your model but it will still apply to your weed trimmer maybe different steps.

I have a problem with my ryobi rlt30ces its seems to be sum kind of fuel blockage it ticks over then dies checked spark plug ok cleaned out carb im mystified

Put a new primer button on it the old primer diagram is old and has gotten tough less flexible and will stick and cause a kind of back pressure that will not allow the fuel to flow. Had this kind of problem on my stilh.

Where is the Spark Arrestor located on a Ryobi SS 30 Trimmer

It will be on the muffler. What you are looking for is a screen mesh. If you cannot see through this mesh then you need to clean it before putting it back into the muffler. You can clean it with a propane torch and burn off the carbon deposits.

I have a Ryobi brushcutter that is 4 years old. When I was using it the other day it just would not run at full throttle. I checked spark plug, air filter and fuel filter. No adjustments on carb. I have no...

Smokey 2 cycle oil will cause the exhaust ports to carbon up and plug the spark arrestor.
Remove the muffler, use a pick to clean out the exhaust port on the engine, and the muffler inside opening, then clean the spark arrestor screen, to assure yourself you are correcting the problem start the machine up with the muffler off, it should run like a charm, if it goes back to running badly when you reattach the muffler it may be clogged on the inside.

How do i clean the spark arrestor on a ryobi ss30 trimmer?

Got a manual? They likely tell you there. If not:

Obtain and use the proper tools for removing the arrestor retention assembly/diverter and leaving the muffler in place right where it is at. Once the screen is in your hands? A blast of carb cleaner and a fine wire brush is all the attention it will need. Re-install, snug your retention screws/bolts and go play in the grass! :D

I also tried this.

  1. Clean the carb wire gauze air filter behind the roto-choke knob. (undo the nut/washers & long bolt)
  2. Deteremine if fuel is being fed to cylinder - Fully depress & prime the bulb about 7 times, turn to full choke. Pull start cord about 7 times. Remove spark plug see/smell fuel fumes/vapour present in cylinder
  3. Determine if compression is weak - remove plug, put finger over plug port, pull start cord. Should be evident of resistance/pressure build up when cord is pulled.
  4. Of course brand new plug!!! as above (I would try this first)
Hope this helps
please rate my comments - Thanks
