Question about Nespresso Lattissima 660.R

Coffee tastes very acidic

We have a Nespresso DeLonghi Lattissima and have just descaled it for the second time. Noticed a strange taste right before we cleaned it and now it's worse. Never had this problem before. Have changed the water in the tank several times and still no difference.

Thanks for your response, but I used the descaling kit I purchased directly from the Nespresso boutique where I had bought the machine. The first time I used the kit, there was no problem at all. Also, there started to be a strange taste right before the machine was descaled for a second time. A bit strange.

Hi kdimof,
I realize you posted this problem over a year ago, but I was curious to see if you were ever able to resolve this problem, or find the exact cause.
I have the same issue you describe. I descaled my Lattissima for the first time using the Nespresso descaling solution. And now, two months later, I cannot remove the chemical smell/taste of the descaling solution. I've run numerous descaling cycles with just water (as per Nespresso's customer service advice), with no success. I was forced to accept a refurbished machine (even though my Lattissima was only 3 months old). The refurbished machine is currently on the way. We'll see if I have the same issue when I descale this one.
Thanks, Redfran

    Hi Redfran

I have this problem too and have just descaled my machine for the 2nd time too using the official Nespresso descaler. I thought maybe it was a one off. Am just having a drink which definately tastes chemical so have stopped drinking it. Nespresso seems to be ignoring this problem. I phoned them last year and also did the same today and whilst they admit they know this problem occurs - i.e. they don't deny it, they say just rinse it out. I will never use this Nespresso descaler again. Not a happy customer.

Question: What did you use to descale the machine?
If you used vinegar or lime juice, then that is where the taste is from. To remove this taste try to find a water store(they usually sell filtered or purified water products), get a packet of ScaleKleen use about 3 tbls and run the descale cycle(make sure it is disolved in water tank before running cycle). After rinsing with atleast 3 full water tanks, the taste should be gone.

Delonghi Nespresso Coffee Machine Model EN66 After years of great use our machine now has small drips from the main coffee/water spout after use.

Try running apple cider vinegar through it. A few times. This is a mild acid that will get rid of mineral deposits from water. I do this on my coffee maker. Run straight water a few times after to get rid of the vinegar taste.

Will not feed water and says descale

HI
Some machines shut down when they need to be descaled. Refer to your owners manual on descaling, then follow the instructions and your machine should go back to normal. These machines need to be descaled. Even the best water has mineral in it. Distilled water doesn't have minerals in it but makes the coffee taste different.

Keurig only brews about 2-3 oz. of coffee.

Doesn't sound like a descaler issue. I am having problems with mine and noticed that water is flowing back into the reservoir when it is pouring into the coffee cup. I think there is a valve that is not closing properly.
