Cant get my Kenwood Tk-2312 to change channels?

I hate to ask, but who programmed the radio? It may only have a single channel programmed. If new, contact your dealer, if used, find a dealer. If bought from a warehouse/online, find a dealer. They do not come with 128 channels programmed . Not a consumer radio, it is designed for police, fire and business.

I need to record a cable show on to a vcr? how do you do it

I doubt you can do what you are asking. There are technical reasons, based on changes in television technology. Unless you understand the issues/technology, you would not be able to answer my questions.
If the output signal of the Cable TV box was NTSC (without copy protection), then you would be able to record the program on an NTSC VCR. Very unlikely at this time.
I suggest you buy a Digital Video Recorder, like the one Channel Master makes, and record your shows via a TV antenna. Over The Air OTA DVR 16GB Channel Master

With the channel display showing 000.0000 you may be able to program a new frequency into it, and the new program will release the lockout. Have you tried the normal programming for any channels?

I need help programming vcr to tape show

Since the V9800 has no built-in tuner, your TV set must be set to the channel your show to be taped is on. There is no way to tune it to any particular channel. Now, isn't that convenient?

Timed recording with cable (new)

If you're referring to programming your VCR for recording, that works just like it did before the cable box was installed, but with two major differences.

The first difference is that the VCR must always be programmed to record on the converter box output channel. Usually this is channel 3, but may also be channel 4. The cable box selects the channel from the cable system, but it's always outputting to your TV on the same channel. That channel is what the VCR needs to record from.

The second change to programmed recording is that you can't program your VCR to record programs on different channels. The reason is because, as mentioned above, the VCR is actually recording from the cable box which is always on the same output channel. Unless you are home to change the channel on the box, you're stuck. For example, if you want to record a show at 10PM on channel 8 and another at 11 on channel 26, those are the cable channel numbers. The box output is channel 3 (or 4) in both cases. The VCR can't switch the box for you. It's only going to record the program on the channel you selected before you left home. You also need to leave the cable box turned on, but the TV can be off. This is probably the thing most people find confusing about dealing with a cable box.

Now having said all that, some brands of cable box do include a timer feature of their own that allows you to program the box to switch channels. This feature is used in conjunction with timer recording on the VCR. You still always program the VCR to record on channel 3 (4), but now the box can be programmed as well to switch to the channel on the system you want to record. This allows you to get around the limitation described above. If your box offers this feature, it will be accessed through its setup menu using the remote control. Ask your cable company if this is available if it's not clear from the setup menus or instructions the installer left you with.

Channel stuck and can't record shows the same night

Your two problems are related - the DVD player lost contact with the local PBS channel, which altered its internal clock.

Add a red, white and yellow cable from one of the outs on the back of the cable box to the slot marked AV1 IN on the back of the Philips. Then redo the channel programming - press the System Menu button and change Tuning Band to CATV - it will then ask you if you want to do an Auto Channel Set - say Yes.

Once it is done with the channel programming, turn the DVD player to whatever channel PBS is on in your area's cable service. Then go back to System Menu - select Clock Set and go to Auto. Alternatively, you can select Manual under Clock Set and change the date by hand).

Good luck!
