Whirlpool washer not draining

Wash goes through wash cycle then stops. Water will not pump out but will drain out if I lay the hose on the ground. I don't think it's the lid switch. I drained the washer, took the clothes out and tilted the washer to look underneath. There appears to be a felt-looking ????? belt ??? around something underneath that has a crease in it like it was stretched and attached to something and now has come off. This leads to another issue: the agitator will turn in one direction with my hand when the machine is off. I am wondering if the water not pumping out and the agitator not working are related. This is a Whirlpool Estate toploading washer. Model TAWS800JQ. Not sure if it's -01/02/03.

Most top loaders use belt drives, it sounds as one of the belts has snaped. can you see a belt laying around a pully or on the floor of the washer that has come away , or a pully with out anything to turn it.

Duets washer won't drain

Probably a blocked filter, outlet pipe or pump.
Take the drain hose and lay it flat and lower then the level of the drum and this will drain the machine providing the blockage is not solid. When machine is empty check filter , pipes and pump and remove any blockage found.
Replace drain hose and you should then be able to carry on with your wash or spin the clothes.

Washing machine wont hold water on any setting

raise the main drain hose to the top of the back control head. there may be a problem with the main hose being to low and the water is gravity siphoning out of the washer.make sure the washer is off when you lift the hose up but do not remove it from the wall, you should here water drain out once it has stopped draining restart you machine and it should fill to the proper level and quit then go into your wash cycle

What is the best way to winterize a standard large capacity washing machine?

If the product will be exposed to sub-freezing temperatures, turn off the water supply to washer, disconnect fill hoses, drain them and reconnect. Remove the drain hose from the standpipe in the wall and place it into a shallow pan at floor level untill the water floe stops. Unplug unit and you are good to go.

If no sub-freezing temps are expected, turn off water supply. Turn on washer for a warm wash cycle for a few seconds to relieve the pressure in the hoses. Turn off machine and unplug it.

Water not draining after the wash cycle

Sounds like either you have a blockage in the drain pump or the drain hose is blocked.
The washing machine will run the drain pump for about 2 to 3 minutes to empty water from the drum then stop automatically.
If the pump is blocked or the drain hose blocked or kinked then water will be left in the drum.
Blockages are usually caused by buttons, bra wires or metal objects from pockets eg coins.
The pump can be popped open using simple tools ie screwdriver and any obstruction removed easily. The drain hose can be detached and a metal object eg knife dropped through to test for a blockage.

Washer won't drain after rinse cycle

If you lay the drain hose down into a bucket does water come out fairly quickly?

If so then it is not a blockage

You may have a coin or other small object in the pump which stops the impeller turning so no pumping action

Only solution is to check if the pump is free to turn either via the filter opening or taking the back panel off (Remove power before doing so ) and turning the pump by hand (there will be a fan blade on the end which is connected directly to the impeller.

If that will not turn very easily then you need to take off the hoses and check what is happening with the pump unit

Washer will not drain after wash cycle or the spin cycle

check to see if your pump is slightly plugged with a sock or ?

Your top loader should pump out in about a minute and a half when totally full of water.
